Then use low-risk checks to narrow down when the problem happens and give official support useful details. These are troubleshooting steps—not eight developer-confirmed crash fixes.
Check that your PC meets the minimum requirements
Steam’s current listing gives these minimum PC requirements. They are a compatibility baseline, not a guarantee that the game will run without crashes.

Compare your PC’s operating system, processor, memory, graphics card, DirectX support and free storage with Steam’s technical-support listing. Falling below a minimum is a compatibility concern, but the listing cannot identify the cause of a particular crash.
Work through these eight checks
1. Install any pending game update
In Steam, open your Library, right-click Amanda the Adventurer 2, choose Properties, then open Updates and check the automatic-update setting. Steam may also show an available update in the Downloads area. Install an update if one is pending, then try the game again.

The game’s official Steam news and update notes document changes over time. The November 20, 2025 update, labeled version 2.1.6, fixed a tape that could become inaccessible after completing “Let’s Practice Patience!” and changed key bindings associated with being unable to exit. Those notes describe specific progression and exit issues, not a general crash fix.
2. Restart Steam and your PC
Close the game and Steam, restart the computer, reopen Steam and launch the game again. This is a general, reversible troubleshooting check; no cited game update identifies it as a confirmed fix.

3. Note exactly when the crash occurs
Check whether the game closes at launch, during loading, or at the same point in a particular scene. Write down any error message and whether the crash happens every time or only occasionally. This will not fix the problem by itself, but it makes later troubleshooting and a support report more specific.
4. Undo recent settings or key-binding changes
If the problem began after you changed graphics settings or controls, restore the previous settings or return the bindings to a known configuration, if you can still access the relevant menus. The 2.1.6 notes document a past key-binding issue affecting the ability to exit; they do not establish key bindings as a general cause of crashes.

5. Check available storage and system compatibility
Confirm that the drive has at least the game’s listed 8 GB of available storage and compare your hardware and Windows version against the requirements above. Meeting those minimums does not rule out every compatibility problem, and the requirements alone cannot diagnose a crash.
6. Look for a matching official update note
Read the dates and descriptions in the official update history for an issue that resembles yours. For example, an October 2025 version 2.1.2 note described optimized memory use and loading times for console releases. That console-focused change should not be treated as a confirmed PC crash fix.

7. Report a repeatable crash through the official channels
The game’s Steam news directs players with other issues to its Discord bug-reporting channel or the Steam discussion forums. Include your PC specifications, what you were doing, when the crash occurs, any visible error text, and steps that reproduce it if you know them. These details are practical suggestions for a clearer report, not a list of information the developer explicitly requires.
8. Contact Steam or the publisher if the issue persists
Use the game’s Steam support options or contact the publisher, DreadXP, at [email protected], listed on Steam’s technical-support page. Avoid deleting saves, editing system files, disabling security features, or buying hardware without a diagnosis; none of those actions is established here as a solution for this game.

What the official evidence does—and doesn’t—confirm
The official pages establish the minimum requirements, selected dated game changes, and ways to report or seek help with an unresolved issue. They do not publish an eight-step crash guide or confirm that any of the general checks above will cure a particular crash. Treat the steps as a cautious way to check compatibility, rule out simple issues and gather useful information—not as guaranteed fixes.
