PlaySafe ID has proposed using verified-player matchmaking to make cheating harder in Escape from Tarkov, but it has not announced a Tarkov launch. The service would need Battlestate Games to integrate it, and Escape from Tarkov is not on PlaySafe ID’s developer integration list reviewed here. The headline’s promise to rid the game of “all hackers” is not an established result.
What PlaySafe ID proposed for Escape from Tarkov
Insider Gaming reported on June 17, 2025, that PlaySafe ID wanted to work with Escape from Tarkov and Battlestate Games. The article makes clear that using the service in Tarkov depends on direct support from Battlestate. It does not report a confirmed partnership or deployment. Insider Gaming’s report
As of the PlaySafe ID developer page reviewed on October 7, 2026, Escape from Tarkov is not listed among its integrations. The page names projects including SCUM, Apex Legends, Rust, Garry’s Mod, s&box, and DayZ community servers; availability can change, so the current list is the place to check. How the proposed system would work
A separate, pseudonymous identity
PlaySafe ID describes its product as a pseudonymised proof that a user is a “trusted, unique, and accountable player.” It says users are verified, their data is deleted, and the resulting PlaySafe ID can connect to participating games. These are the company’s descriptions of its identity and data practices, not independent audit findings. PlaySafe ID

#1 Best Overall
- Custom made based on beanie from Escape from Tarkov
- A great gift for the holidays or to add to your Tarkov collection
- Perfect for raiding!
Optional protected matchmaking
The company’s model is for players to opt into a verified-player environment in games that integrate the service. Its developer materials describe account linking or OAuth, status checks, and the ability for a game to submit penalties. In principle, a participating game could use those checks to group eligible users and make repeat offenders easier to exclude across participating titles. The proposal relies on game integration and broad enough adoption; it is not evidence that cheating can be eliminated.
PlaySafe ID is therefore best understood as a cross-game identity and accountability layer, not a replacement for a game’s own cheat detection. The available materials do not establish that it replaces BattlEye or Battlestate’s internal systems.

What it can—and cannot—mean for Tarkov players
- There is no confirmed Tarkov feature to enable. Neither the reported proposal nor the current integration list establishes that players can use PlaySafe protected matchmaking in Escape from Tarkov.
- It is not a guarantee of a hacker-free lobby. The cited materials provide no independent measure of PlaySafe ID’s effectiveness in Tarkov, and a verified identity is not proof that a player will never cheat.
- It would require studio cooperation. Battlestate Games would have to support an integration for the service to affect Tarkov matchmaking or penalties.
- It does not replace enforcement by the game. Detection and action against cheats remain distinct from verifying player identity or sharing status across participating games.
How this differs from Tarkov’s existing anti-cheat context
Battlestate’s historical official Telegram posts describe work with BattlEye and internal measures such as in-game reporting and additional server countermeasures. A historical 2020 post also framed SMS verification as one possible friction measure, not a way to make the game cheat-free. Those posts show how the studio has discussed anti-cheat measures historically; they do not establish the current technical stack or how effective present-day defenses are. BattlEye’s support page says global bans are permanent and explains how to appeal, while stating that it will not disclose ban details or evidence. Those are BattlEye’s policies for its own bans, not PlaySafe ID’s rules. BattlEye Support

Funding and the user target behind the announcement
Forbes reported on May 23, 2025, that PlaySafe ID raised $1.12 million in pre-seed funding from Early Game Ventures, Hartmann Capital, and Overwolf. The same report described the company’s goal of reaching more than 250,000 users in its first few months after launch; that was a target, not a reported achieved count. Funding and a growth goal indicate the company’s plans, but do not demonstrate a Tarkov integration or anti-cheat results. Forbes report on PlaySafe ID’s funding
