2025’s anticipated VR releases are now a historical lineup, not upcoming promises. Announcements named dates for games on PS VR2, Quest, and Steam VR, but each date applied to a specific platform version—and an announced date alone does not confirm that a game ultimately launched.
What the 2025 announcements actually said
PlayStation’s June 24, 2025 roundup announced four PS VR2 titles with different schedules: Dreams of Another and Hotel Infinity were planned for later that year; Grit and Valor – 1949 was dated for August 21; and Meteora was listed for 2026, not 2025. The announcement is a useful snapshot of what players could anticipate at the time, but it does not by itself establish the eventual release status of each game. PlayStation’s June 24 announcement
PS VR2 dates announced during 2025
Two later PlayStation posts added dated examples to the year’s calendar. In March, PlayStation scheduled Slender: The Arrival VR for May 13 on PS VR2. In November, its update said VRacer Hoverbike was available that day, then listed November dates for three more titles.

The November post’s wording makes a distinction between an already-available game and titles with later dates. It said VRacer Hoverbike “is out today on PS VR2,” while giving November 11, 20, and 25 for the other releases. What the announcements said about comfort
For Slender: The Arrival VR, PlayStation’s March 20 post described seated and standing modes, snap or continuous movement, and sensitivity controls. Why platform-specific dates matter
A VR game’s date may differ by headset or storefront. Starbreeze announced a Steam VR version of Out of Sight for May 22, 2025, while saying Meta Quest and PS VR2 versions would arrive “at a later date.” That announcement supports the distinction between platform versions; it does not establish the final dates for the Quest or PS VR2 editions. Likewise, a list of games “coming to VR” cannot safely be read as a universal compatibility list. Meta’s official storefront identifies Quest 3S and Quest 3 hardware and presents a games catalog, but a headset’s presence on the store does not confirm compatibility for every title in a broader VR roundup. It is not a year-wide ledger. PlayStation’s posts provide dated examples, while UploadVR’s June 30, 2025 roundup captured announced July dates across PS VR2, Quest, and PC VR and noted that further dates and delays continued to emerge. There is also no verified poll, wishlist count, sales figure, review metric, or other transparent ranking here that establishes which releases were objectively the “hottest.” Treat “anticipated” as a description of announcement-time interest, not a measured ranking or a claim about what proved most popular.

How to use an old “coming in 2025” list
- Match the game to the platform. Confirm whether the listing is for Quest standalone, Steam VR/PC VR, or PS VR2.
- Read the date as historical. “Later in 2025” was an announcement window, not a specific day or a current release promise.
- Verify availability on the relevant store. An announcement date and a present-day store listing answer different questions.
- Check edition compatibility before purchase. A release on one VR platform does not establish that another version launched at the same time or supports the same headset.
