Its Memories feature works offline, while Projects, the Exchange and the Vault need an internet connection. Ubisoft cancelled the Season Pass; the planned Season Pass quest was made available to all players on launch day. Cross-progression can carry eligible earned items and progress between platforms, but purchased DLC and pre-order content do not transfer.
What is the Animus Hub in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
The Animus Hub is an in-game home for connecting with parts of the Assassin’s Creed series. Ubisoft announced four launch features: Memories, Projects, the Exchange and the Vault. In Shadows, it is integrated into the game rather than installed as a separate launcher. When a supported game is owned and installed, the Hub can also launch Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage; games released before Origins were not supported at launch. Ubisoft’s announcement said Hub rewards would be free and unlocked by playing missions.
Which Animus Hub features work offline?
Offline availability depends on the feature, not on the Hub as a whole.
| Feature | Internet required? | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Memories | No | Available offline. |
| Projects | Yes | Live Hub feature; requires a connection. |
| The Exchange | Yes | Requires a connection. |
| The Vault | Yes | Requires a connection. |
Ubisoft’s description is that “the Hub works offline, but is better when connected”: that applies to Memories, not the connected features listed above. See Ubisoft’s feature and connectivity details.

Was the Season Pass cancelled, and what happened to its quest?
Ubisoft cancelled the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Season Pass. Its Collector’s Edition FAQ says the planned exclusive Season Pass quest would be accessible to all players on launch day. It is not a current Season Pass offer or a quest that requires buying one. Ubisoft’s FAQ addresses the question directly: “What happened to the exclusive Season Pass quest? Did you remove it?”
Is Claws of Awaji the cancelled Season Pass?
No. Claws of Awaji is a separate expansion/add-on for Shadows, not the cancelled Season Pass. Ubisoft’s guide says access follows completion of the main story arcs, and the base game is required. Expansion ownership is distinct from Hub rewards and does not make DLC transferable between platforms. Ubisoft’s Road to Awaji guide explains its access conditions.

What carries over with cross-progression?
Ubisoft Help describes cross-platform sharing for eligible earned content and Animus Hub progress when the game platforms are connected to the same Ubisoft account, either directly or through a linked console account. Its entry was updated June 8, 2026. The eligible earned content it lists includes gear, weapons, customizations, hideout resources, allies, mounts, maps and Helix Credits.
| Content or progress | Shared across platforms? |
|---|---|
| Eligible earned gear, weapons, customizations, hideout resources, allies, mounts, maps and Animus Hub progress | Yes, with the required Ubisoft account link. |
| Purchased DLC | No. It does not transfer between platforms. |
| Pre-order content | No. It does not transfer between platforms. |
| Helix Credits | Credits may be included in eligible sharing, but the purchased currency itself is platform-linked. |
That distinction matters if you change consoles or move between console and PC: shared progress does not mean the game or paid add-ons you bought on one platform are licensed on another. Check that the relevant DLC is owned and installed on the platform where you want to play. Ubisoft Help’s cross-platform sharing entry lists the account-link and content rules.

What changed in the Animus Hub in 2026?
Ubisoft said its June 16, 2026 update was Shadows’ final major content update. It added the free Black Tides story capper and Domains, along with two cross-title Projects spanning Shadows and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. “Final major content update” is Ubisoft’s dated description; it does not establish that no further patch of any kind could ever be released. Read Ubisoft’s update announcement.
Ubisoft later described Hub features including Synchronization and cross-title Projects in its July 8, 2026 Animus Hub guide for Black Flag Resynced. Platform availability varies by product and region; Ubisoft’s current Shadows product page lists its supported platforms.
