Yoki Legacy launched on Soneium in April 2025. The collectible game is part of Astar’s Yoki consumer IP, but its current status is mixed: Astar lists it as live, while the Yoki site says the adventure has ended. The NFTs remain tradable on Soneium; that does not establish that gameplay or minting is still available.
What is Yoki Legacy?
Yoki Legacy is the second season of Yoki, Astar’s consumer IP rooted in Japanese folklore. Astar describes it as a collectible game built around minting capsules, fusing Yokis and progressing through a Notebook collection using ASTR-powered flows. The Yoki site presents Legacy as the next chapter after Yoki Origins.
Origins and Legacy are ERC-1155 NFT collections on Soneium. The Yoki site says Origins has ended and that its NFTs continue to exist on Soneium, where holders can keep and trade them. It also links to the Legacy collection on OpenSea.
When did Yoki Legacy launch?
Yoki Legacy launched in April 2025, according to its OpenSea collection page. GamesBeat covered the announcement on April 22, 2025, when the launch was still being described in future tense. The original “will launch” headline is therefore no longer current.

What is Soneium, and who built it?
Soneium is a public Ethereum layer 2 developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs. Sony Group announced the mainnet’s public launch in January 2025. Astar describes Yoki Legacy as running on Soneium, and Soneium identifies Astar as a special launch partner. That partnership does not mean Sony made Yoki Legacy: the project belongs to Astar’s Yoki IP.
In Soneium’s launch introduction, Maarten Henskens, Head of Astar Foundation, said: “We at the Astar Foundation are incredibly excited to partner with the Soneium ecosystem as a special launch partner.”

Is Yoki Legacy still active?
The project’s pages describe its status differently. Astar’s products page lists Yoki Legacy as a live collectible game, while the Yoki site says the adventure has ended. These statements do not establish that every game feature or mint remains accessible. NFT trading is a separate matter: the Yoki site says the NFTs remain tradable on Soneium.
Anyone considering interacting with the game should check its current app and official project links for feature availability rather than treating the collection’s continued existence or tradability as proof that gameplay is operating.
