Embark says it is taking action against ARC Raiders accounts that gained a significant advantage from a duplication exploit, but its July 14, 2026 update does not describe an automatic ban for everyone who encountered duplicated items. The studio said consequences range from warnings and removal of exploit-linked Coins or items to suspensions in severe cases.
What Embark said it is doing
In its July 14, 2026 Store Update 1.37.0, Embark said the duplication glitch had been fixed the previous week and that enforcement against accounts with a significant advantage was underway and would continue that week. The studio described a tiered response:
- Warnings for low-severity abuse.
- Removal of Coins and items tied to exploit activity.
- Suspensions for severe cases, particularly when exploit use significantly affected the in-game economy or other players’ experience.
Embark framed its goal as targeting deliberate, consequential abuse rather than incidental exposure: “Our goal is to only take action against those who significantly and deliberately abused the exploit, not to catch players who were incidentally affected.”
Can players be suspended for receiving duplicated items?
Embark distinguished deliberate exploitation from simply receiving items. It said deliberate use without a major advantage would not result in suspension, while someone who unknowingly received a few items could receive a warning. The update does not promise a particular outcome for any individual account, so a player cannot infer their status from the mere presence of a duplicated item.

What is known—and not known—about the crackdown
The July post describes the policy and says enforcement is in progress, but it publishes no count of warnings, item or Coin removals, or suspensions. It also gives no total for duplicated items or quantified measure of economic impact, and identifies no players who were penalized. The scale of the crackdown therefore cannot be established from the update.
Earlier duplication fixes are separate context
Embark’s January 20, 2026 Patch Notes 1.12.0 listed fixes for “an item duplication exploit” and “an ammo duplication exploit.” Those earlier fixes show that duplication exploits had appeared before, but the notes do not establish that either issue was technically the same as the glitch addressed in July.
A separate February incident was discussed in a contemporaneous GameSpot report. Embark said it needed time to validate what happened, assess the scope, and distinguish accidental use from intentional abuse, adding: “We want to act once, with intention, and with confidence that we’re doing the right thing.” That account concerns the February incident; it does not establish the process used for the July enforcement or prove the two incidents involved the same exploit.
