Start by helping the abbot at Tanjosan Myoyoji Temple in Harima; then follow the quest chain to steal invasion plans at Hiraiyama Fort, investigate the Ox’s allies, and return to Nakamura Tadashige in Miki. VULKK’s walkthrough describes different final routes for Naoe and Yasuke.
Quest order and starting point
The Ox is a Shinbakufu target, identified in the cited guides as Bessho Harusama or Bessho Harumasa. The spelling differs between sources, so use the name shown in your game. The quest sequence covered by VULKK is:

The hunt begins after A Voice in Anger. First help the abbot at Tanjosan Myoyoji Temple in Harima, then free Nakamura Tadashige and speak with him at the tower overlooking Miki Castle. The later quests lead back to Tadashige for the final mission. VULKK’s quest overview
How to complete Astray
PowerPyx identifies Astray as the 47th main quest, recommends level 26, and lists a 1,000 EXP reward. Those are guide-listed figures, not a platform- or patch-specific verification. Track the quest from the Objectives Board.

Steal the invasion plans at Hiraiyama Fort
- Travel northeast from Tanjosan Myoyoji Temple to Hiraiyama Fort in Harima.
- Approach the fort from the northeast corner and climb the wall, as PowerPyx recommends.
- Deal with the guard, then interact with the map on the table to collect the invasion plans.
- Go to Kyokaji Temple and meet Nakamura Tadashige to finish the quest.
The meeting temple is spelled Kyokaji by PowerPyx and Kyokaiji by VULKK. Follow the location name on your in-game map or quest text if the spelling differs. PowerPyx says the dialogue choices after finding the plans do not change story progression.
How to complete Brothers in Arms
After Astray, go to Kanki Burned Fields and find the mysterious ronin. Defeat the attackers around him; VULKK identifies the ronin as Koshiro. He asks you to find Seiji at Kanki Castle.
Seiji has become a commander for the Ox. After the encounter, the guide says you can choose to kill or spare him, but it does not establish consequences for that decision. Choose according to your preference rather than expecting a documented quest advantage.

How to complete Of My Enemy
- Find Hiromichi’s man in Kakogawa Estuary, northwest of Horikawa Dock, and follow him to Hiromichi.
- Go to Takasago Shrine and inspect the clue in the central room to identify the Ox’s lieutenant.
- Travel to the supply ship southeast of the clue location. Board from the back, defeat the lieutenant, then report back to Hiromichi.
This route and objective sequence are described in VULKK’s walkthrough.
Broken Horn: choose your character’s route
Once Brothers in Arms and Of My Enemy are complete, return to Nakamura Tadashige in Miki to begin Broken Horn. VULKK describes distinct objectives depending on whether you play as Naoe or Yasuke:

Naoe: stealth approach
After reaching the Ox, VULKK suggests removing guards and attacking him from behind, then using the roof to break line of sight. Repeat stealth attacks while he searches. This is the guide’s suggested tactic, not an independently tested guarantee; adapt if the encounter unfolds differently in your game.

Yasuke: direct confrontation
Yasuke’s described route is a direct fight: clear the Ox’s men, speak with the dying soldier, defeat the Tsuno, and then assassinate the Ox. The guide does not establish that this route is easier, faster, or more efficient than Naoe’s.
Broken Horn rewards
VULKK lists a legendary kanabo, the “Shrapnel from Breaking Armor” engraving, and 290 mon for completing the final confrontation. These are the rewards reported by that guide; the source does not specify a platform, patch, or game-build verification.
