First, identify what the crash looks like
Rebellion describes a crash as the game stopping and exiting by itself. Note whether Atomfall freezes in place, closes to the PS4 home screen, or displays an error code. Also note what you were doing and whether the issue happens at the same point each time. This information can help distinguish a game-only problem from one affecting the console or other games.
There is no published official statistic in the sources cited here for how often Atomfall crashes on PS4, how many players are affected, or how often these troubleshooting steps succeed. The steps below are PlayStation’s general PS4 game troubleshooting advice, organized as a cautious escalation path—not a Rebellion-published list of nine Atomfall fixes.
Try these PS4 troubleshooting steps in order
After each action, start Atomfall again and check whether the symptom changes. You do not need to proceed to more disruptive steps if the issue is resolved.

Record the error and circumstances
Write down any error code or message and what happened just before the game stopped. If the crash recurs, note the location or action that seems to trigger it. PlayStation asks players seeking help to provide error messages, a detailed description, and steps to reproduce the issue.

Check the disc or USB extended storage, if applicable
If you play from disc, check that the disc is clean and seated correctly. If Atomfall is installed on USB extended storage, confirm that the drive is connected securely. These checks apply only to the relevant installation type; they are not diagnoses of an Atomfall-specific fault.

Restart the PS4
Open the Quick Menu, choose Power, then Restart PS4. Once the console has restarted, launch Atomfall and see whether it still crashes.

Restore licenses
PlayStation includes restoring licenses among its general game troubleshooting steps. Use the license-restoration option in the console’s account settings, then try the game again.

Reinstall Atomfall
Delete the game application and download it again; PlayStation recommends using a wired internet connection if possible. This means reinstalling the game itself—not deleting saved data. Once the download is complete, test Atomfall before trying more disruptive console steps.

Check for a PS4 system software update
Use the PS4 system software settings to check for and install the latest update available to your console. When the update is complete, relaunch Atomfall.

Rebuild the database in Safe Mode
Follow PlayStation’s current Safe Mode instructions to rebuild the database. Use the official instructions carefully so you select the intended option rather than a more disruptive reset or initialization choice.

Consider reinstalling system software only as a last resort
PlayStation lists system software reinstallation as a further troubleshooting option. It is more disruptive than the preceding checks: back up relevant data before proceeding, and follow PlayStation’s current instructions exactly. Do not treat this as a routine first response to one game crash.

Report a persistent crash to Rebellion
If Atomfall continues to crash, use the report prompt on the PlayStation crash screen and include as much useful information as possible. Rebellion Help Centre says this information is “really valuable in helping us quickly establish what is causing crashes and get it fixed as soon as possible.” The PlayStation reporting flow can attach a 30-second video.
What to include when asking for help
If you contact PlayStation Support or report the crash to Rebellion, provide the error code or message, a clear description of what happened, and the steps that reproduce it. Add a screenshot or video if possible. For a video, the PlayStation crash-report flow can attach 30 seconds of footage. Rebellion’s crash article has separate instructions for PC crash dumps; those PC-only steps do not apply to PS4.
- Whether Atomfall freezes, closes, or returns to the home screen.
- Whether the problem happens at a repeatable location or after a particular action.
- Whether you use a disc or digital installation, and whether the game is on internal or USB extended storage.
- Whether the PS4 or other games show similar symptoms.
Official guidance and limits
Rebellion lists PS4 as a supported Atomfall platform, and the PlayStation Store lists a PS4 version. Rebellion’s public crash-reporting article explains how to report a console crash, but does not document a confirmed PS4-specific cause or definitive cure. PlayStation’s troubleshooting steps are general guidance for game-starting problems, not evidence that a particular step will resolve Atomfall crashing on your console.
