Try these checks in order
Work from the least disruptive checks to the more involved ones. Save your progress before troubleshooting where possible, and avoid deleting saved data as an early step.

Close Atomfall and restart the PS5
Close the game, restart the console, then launch Atomfall again. Restarting the console is PlayStation’s first recommendation for the specific startup error CE-109573-5; it is also a sensible low-impact first check for other crashes. PlayStation’s CE-109573-5 guidance

Make sure the game has finished installing

Check for an Atomfall update
From the PS5 home screen, highlight Atomfall, press the Options button, and choose Check for Update. Install any update offered, then try the game again. This checks for an available update; it does not establish that a specific crash has a patch.

Update PS5 system software
Open Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings, then check for an update. Install one if available and restart the console if prompted. PlayStation includes current system software among its general troubleshooting checks. PlayStation’s game freeze and crash guidance

Test whether the crash is tied to one save
If the crash happens while loading or playing a particular save, try starting a new save as a comparison. If the new save works, that may point to an issue associated with the existing save or its game state; it is a diagnostic test, not a guaranteed way to repair or recover that save. Do not overwrite a save you want to keep.

Reinstall Atomfall
If the earlier checks do not help, delete the game application and download or install it again from your library. Reinstalling is among PlayStation’s general crash recommendations and is also listed for CE-109573-5. Take care to distinguish the game application from saved data when deleting content. Use the CE-109573-5 steps only if that is your startup error
If Atomfall fails to start and the PS5 displays CE-109573-5, follow PlayStation’s instructions for that code: restart, reinstall the game, and, if the problem continues, start the console in Safe Mode and choose Clear Cache and Rebuild Database > Rebuild Database. Send a PS5 crash report

Report the circumstances to Rebellion if Atomfall alone crashes
Contact Rebellion through its Atomfall Help Centre and describe where the crash occurred, what you were doing immediately beforehand, and any steps that reliably reproduce it. Those details help the developer investigate a possible game issue. Contact PlayStation if several games crash
If other PS5 games are also freezing or crashing, contact PlayStation Support. PlayStation’s general guidance treats problems affecting multiple games as a possible console issue, while recommending that players contact the game maker when only one title is affected. A PS5 initialization erases data stored on the console, so do not use it as an early troubleshooting step; follow PlayStation guidance and back up important data before considering any destructive option.
