The triggers are making a peach pie, entering FACADE on the piano, giving Gret-chan a yellow flower, answering Sam, and answering nobody. Follow the steps below in the matching scenes; an optional sixth tape described by community guides requires editing a save file rather than solving an in-game puzzle.
Where the five regular secret tapes are hidden
This guide covers the original Amanda the Adventurer, not Amanda the Adventurer 2 or 3. Nintendo describes the Switch game as a puzzle-solving adventure with clues hidden in tapes, but the step-by-step unlock details below come from community walkthroughs rather than an official developer guide. Nintendo’s US Switch listing confirms the game listing; it is not a walkthrough.
The tapes are triggered by actions inside the relevant episodes. Tape colors are reported by community guides and may vary by platform or version, so use the scene and action as your guide.
Orange tape: make a peach pie
- Play In the Kitchen.
- Use the hidden peach instead of the apple in the pie sequence, then complete the recipe.
- The Steam walkthrough reports that the pie tin and orange tape appear from the microwave.
Green tape: enter FACADE on the piano
- Reach the alternate In Your Neighborhood tape.
- Pause at the corner store clue.
- Play FACADE on the piano to trigger the tape.
Cyan tape: give Gret-chan a yellow flower
- Grow the hidden yellow flower during the relevant puzzle sequence.
- Give the flower to Gret-chan to unlock the tape.
Red tape: answer Sam
- Play What’s a Family?.
- When asked for the daddy chicken’s name, enter Sam.
Purple tape: answer nobody
- Play Oh No! Accidents!.
- When Amanda asks who can help someone who is hurt, answer nobody.
- Pause and retrieve the tape.
Is there a sixth secret tape?
Some community guides describe a sixth tape unlocked by changing the save file’s SecretTapesUnlocked value to 6. This is a save-file modification, not a normal puzzle location, and the exact file access depends on platform and save setup. The Steam guide cautions against downloading third-party tools for the procedure; avoid untrusted downloads and back up a save before making any manual change.

Keep sequel guides separate
These five triggers apply to the original game. Guides for later entries cover different content and unlock steps; a video about Amanda the Adventurer 2, for example, is not evidence for the original’s tape count or locations.
