In Stardew Valley, the Auto-Grabber collects animal products automatically each morning when it is inside a barn or coop. It costs 25,000g at Marnie’s Ranch after you reach Farming Level 10, but using it means missing the friendship points and progression experience earned by collecting products yourself.
How to get the Auto-Grabber
Reach Farming Level 10, then buy the Auto-Grabber from Marnie’s Ranch for 25,000g. The item’s in-game mail describes it as a luxury item; the price is game currency, not a real-world cost. What the Auto-Grabber collects
Place it inside a barn or coop. Each morning, it gathers products made by the animals housed there: in barns, that includes cow and goat milk, sheep wool, and Ostrich Eggs; in coops, it collects products produced by coop animals. It only functions in those buildings, though you can place it elsewhere.
The Auto-Grabber doubles as a chest, holding up to 36 harvested items or stacks. Right-click it to view or remove its contents. An empty Auto-Grabber cannot be opened. Stardew Valley Wiki: Auto-Grabber

What you give up by automating collection
Animal friendship
Manually milking or shearing an animal gives +5 friendship points. When the Auto-Grabber does the collection, you forgo that interaction’s points. Animals can also lose friendship gradually when you do not interact with them, even if they are fed and allowed outside. The Auto-Petter cancels this friendship effect, according to the wiki.
Farming and Mastery progression
Products collected by the Auto-Grabber do not grant Farming experience or Mastery points. The convenience is therefore a trade-off: it saves you the collection task, but does not advance those progressions through the products it gathers. Stardew Valley Wiki: Auto-Grabber

Auto-Grabber or manual collection?

Choose automation if saving collection time matters more than those interactions and progression gains. If animal friendship is a priority, continue interacting with animals even if you use the Auto-Grabber for products.
