To get Azura’s Star in Oblivion Remastered, reach level 2, bring Glow Dust to Azura’s Shrine north of Cheydinhal, and complete Azura’s task at Gutted Mine. The reward is a reusable soul gem: using its stored soul empties it without consuming the artifact.
Where to find Azura’s Shrine
Azura’s Shrine is north of Cheydinhal. Travel there to speak with Azura and begin the shrine quest. Game8’s shrine guide and AppMedia’s Azura’s Star guide identify the location.
Requirements to start the quest
- Level: You must be at least level 2.
- Offering: Bring Glow Dust to offer at the shrine.
These requirements are listed by PC Gamer and AppMedia. If Azura does not offer the task, check that you meet both conditions.
How to complete Azura’s quest
- Travel to Azura’s Shrine north of Cheydinhal with Glow Dust and speak with Azura.
- Go to Gutted Mine and defeat Azura’s infected followers.
- Return to the shrine and speak with Azura to receive Azura’s Star.

What Azura’s Star does
Azura’s Star functions as a reusable soul gem. It can hold a captured soul; when you use that soul, the Star becomes empty but the artifact itself remains available for another use. That distinguishes it from an ordinary soul gem, which is consumed when used. AppMedia and GameSpot describe its reusability.
Guides establish this basic reuse behavior, but do not settle exact soul-size interactions across platforms or patches. If those details matter for your character, check the item’s behavior in your current game version.

A guide from GameTruth cautions that the main quest can involve sacrificing a Daedric artifact. Treat handing over Azura’s Star as a consequential choice: it is a reusable quest reward, so consider whether you want to give it up before proceeding. This warning does not mean every player must sacrifice the Star.
