The company later introduced UnGodly, a dark-fantasy free-to-play RPG. Its current support guidance targets mass-scale mobile availability in 2026, but does not confirm that UnGodly has Web3 features or establish whether it is a renamed Project Legends.
Who invested in Azra Games?
Azra said Pantera Capital led the $42.7 million Series A, with a16z crypto, A16Z GAMES, and NFX participating. The October 15, 2024 announcement put the company’s total funding at $68.3 million after the round. These are figures reported by Azra in its Series A announcement.
The company said it would use the financing to accelerate studio growth, develop Project Legends, and expand Azra Labs. Azra described Azra Labs as a small research-and-development team applying AI to speed up development of AAA mobile content; this was the company’s stated aim, not an independently verified development result.
What was Project Legends, and how did Web3 fit in?
Project Legends was the public name Azra used for its flagship game around the 2024 funding announcement. CEO Mark Otero described an ambition for a new generation of mobile RPGs that could compete with PC and console role-playing games, including open worlds, over-the-shoulder cameras, real-time battles, and extended PvE campaigns. Those were goals he outlined, not a description of a released game.

Web3 was part of the project’s historical framing, but Azra presented it as secondary to making a strong game. In a 2022 company-authored Ethereum article, Azra described blockchain as a way to enhance game experiences. In an October 15, 2024 interview, GamesBeat attributed to Otero the view that the studio should first build a great RPG, then use behind-the-scenes digital technologies, including Web3, to enhance the player experience. Read that as context for the Project Legends era—not proof that the later-announced UnGodly includes blockchain features.
What is UnGodly, and is it Project Legends under a new name?
Azra later announced UnGodly as a dark-fantasy, free-to-play character-collector RPG. The public announcements establish that sequence, but do not say whether Project Legends was renamed, cancelled, or continued internally as UnGodly. It would be inaccurate to state a formal rename as fact.

The current descriptions also do not confirm Web3 features for UnGodly. Its Steam listing and the game’s support guidance focus on its RPG format, availability, and platforms. The Web3 language belongs to the earlier Project Legends context unless Azra separately confirms it for UnGodly.

As of October 7, 2026, Azra’s UnGodly support center says the studio is working toward mass-scale availability on mobile in 2026. It says PC and console versions will follow, without giving a confirmed release window for those platforms.

Steam currently labels the PC release as planned for 2026 and says the game is not yet available there. The Steam listing identifies it as free to play, developed and published by Azra Games, and notes in-game purchases. A planned year is not a confirmed launch date, and the mobile target is not a guarantee that the game is already broadly available.
