What is BLEACH Rebirth of Souls?
BLEACH Rebirth of Souls is a fighting game based on the BLEACH franchise. Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced it at its Summer Showcase during Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles. The July 6, 2024 reveal described an original story created by Tite Kubo, the creator of BLEACH, and introduced Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida and Yasutora Sado (Chad). When did it come out, and what platforms is it on?
The game launched on March 21, 2025. Bandai Namco currently lists it as available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. The publisher identifies Tamsoft Corporation as the developer and lists local multiplayer for one to two players and online play for one to two players. Official game page
How does combat work?
Bandai Namco describes the game as one-on-one action battles. The July 24, 2024 gameplay overview says players use character-specific moves, including Zanpakuto actions, to reduce an opponent’s konpaku health bar. Combos and a Fighting Spirit meter build toward an awakened state and special moves. Is BLEACH Rebirth of Souls an arena fighter?
The original reveal headline called it a “new arena fighter,” but Bandai Namco’s own game materials characterize it as a fighting game and describe its battles as one-on-one. The sources reviewed do not establish “arena fighter” as the publisher’s formal genre label. For the clearest description grounded in the publisher’s wording, call it a one-on-one fighting game.

According to Bandai Namco’s launch announcement, Story Mode follows Ichigo’s journey from the Substitute Soul Reaper Arc through the Arrancar Arc and his battle against Sosuke Aizen.

Versus and character stories
The launch announcement lists Free Match for fighting other players worldwide, local Versus for playing with a friend or against an offline CPU, and Secret Story Mode for character background stories. The publisher’s current page lists local and online play for one to two players; it does not provide further mode-specific player-count details there.

How many characters are playable?
Bandai Namco reported over 30 playable characters in the launch roster in its March 21, 2025 launch announcement. That is the publisher’s launch figure, not an independently measured or confirmed current roster total; the current official game page reviewed here does not state an updated total.

What is the latest status shown on the official page?
The official page shows “Available Now” and displays news entries dated December 3 and 5, 2025: version 1.40 adjustments and the announcement that fourth character DLC Yhwach was available. Those dated entries establish what the page displayed, but do not by themselves show whether support continued after December 2025.
