Is A Paldean Adventure still available?
Pokémon GO introduced A Paldean Adventure as a free-to-claim branching Special Research story during the Adventures Abound season. Its original claim period ran from September 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. through December 1, 2023, at 9:59 a.m. local time. That window has passed. The announcement does not establish whether players who never claimed the research can get it now, or whether previously claimed research can still be completed. The three choices are Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Their evolution lines are Sprigatito → Floragato → Meowscarada, Fuecoco → Crocalor → Skeledirge, and Quaxly → Quaxwell → Quaquaval.
All five A Paldean Adventure quest steps
Step 1 of 5: Shared tasks
- Catch 9 Pokémon — 20 Poké Balls, 900 Stardust, and 900 XP.
After completing this step, choose Adventure with Sprigatito, Adventure with Fuecoco, or Adventure with Quaxly.

Step 2 of 5: Your chosen starter
- Catch 3 Pokémon — 3 Poké Balls.
- Take a snapshot of a wild Pokémon — 300 Stardust.
- Complete the step — an encounter with your chosen starter and 900 XP.
Step 3 of 5: Your chosen starter
- Spin 50 PokéStops or Gyms — 20 Razz Berries.
- Catch 200 Pokémon — 15 Pinap Berries.
- Send 60 Gifts to friends — 25 Poké Balls.
- Evolve your chosen starter — 1,000 XP.
- Earn a heart with your buddy on 7 different days — 3,000 Stardust.
- Complete the step — a Lechonk encounter and 900 XP.
Step 4 of 5: Your chosen starter’s middle evolution
- Explore 30 km — 5 Mysterious Components.
- Catch 400 Pokémon — 25 Great Balls.
- Earn 40 Candies walking with your buddy — 9 Golden Razz Berries.
- Evolve your chosen starter’s middle evolution—Floragato, Crocalor, or Quaxwell — 2,000 XP.
- Visit a PokéStop on 14 different days — 6,000 Stardust.
- Complete the step — an encounter and 900 XP. The task listing does not identify the encounter species.
Step 5 of 5: Shared tasks
- Explore 80 km — 25 Ultra Balls.
- Catch 100 different species of Pokémon — 1 Lucky Egg.
- Complete 150 Field Research tasks — 2 Rocket Radars.
- Power up Pokémon 50 times — 50 Candy for your chosen starter.
- Catch a Pokémon on 14 different days — 9,000 Stardust.
The listed rewards for the final step include 900 XP.
Which path should you choose?
Pick the starter you most want to encounter and build Candy for. Each branch asks you to evolve that starter and then its middle evolution, and awards 50 Candy for the selected starter in Step 5. The task listing gives the branches matching requirements and reward categories; it does not identify a faster, more rewarding, or stronger-for-battles choice.

How demanding are the later steps?
This research is designed to unfold over time rather than be cleared in one session. Its day-based objectives require buddy hearts on 7 different days, PokéStop visits on 14 different days, and a Pokémon catch on 14 different days. The distance goals are 30 km in Step 4 and 80 km in Step 5. The final step also requires 150 Field Research tasks and catches of 100 different Pokémon species.

Those shared objectives may matter more to your decision than the starter branch if you are unsure whether you want to pursue the full research. They do not, however, make one starter path shorter than another according to the listed tasks.
