Wolverine’s strongest skills work together: use Feral Leap to reach a target, keep up close-range pressure with Savage Claw, and time Regenerative Healing Factor for the danger point of a committed fight. There is no universal ability order—the target, your Rage, enemy control, and available ally support all change the best choice.
How to think about Wolverine’s skills
Wolverine is a close-range Duelist, so the central question is whether a skill helps him reach a useful target, stay on it, or survive long enough to keep attacking. His official character page lists 350 Health and 7 m/s movement speed, and describes Savage Claw as a melee attack enhanced after Feral Leap. Marvel Rivals’ Wolverine page provides the kit descriptions.
The official September 11, 2026 balance update changed several numbers that may differ from older descriptions: Savage Claw’s base damage rose to 18 per hit, and its Rage scaling increased. Regenerative Healing Factor’s triggered Bonus Health became a flat 300 rather than scaling with current Rage. The official balance post is the source for these updated values. Because the game is updated over time, verify exact ability values in the current client.
Best Wolverine skills and when to use them
Savage Claw: your repeatable pressure
Savage Claw is Wolverine’s core attack once he is in melee range. The September 11, 2026 update sets its base damage at 18 per hit, with damage also tied to a percentage of the target’s maximum health and additional Rage scaling: 1.5% plus 0.062% per Rage point, according to the official update. That makes sustained, reliable hits especially relevant against high-health targets, but it does not guarantee a win against every tank or opponent.

Feral Leap: access plus an empowered follow-up
Use Feral Leap to initiate on a target you can realistically continue pressuring. The official kit description says it enables a temporary Berserk Claw Strike enhancement. Plan the landing and follow-up before leaping: if the target is hard to reach afterward, or enemy control and focus fire can isolate you, the engage may cost more than it gains.
Regenerative Healing Factor: a timed survival resource
Use Regenerative Healing Factor when an engage or dangerous retreat puts you at risk, rather than treating it as passive permission to absorb damage. Its triggered Bonus Health is now a fixed 300 under the September 11, 2026 update, independent of current Rage. That buffer can help create a survival window, but it is not immunity and does not establish that Wolverine can withstand coordinated focus fire.

Last Stand: value comes from the landing and follow-up
The official character page describes Last Stand as lifting and gathering enemies along a path before a damaging landing. Its usefulness depends on catching worthwhile targets and whether allies can capitalize on the displacement and damage. Do not assume that activating the ultimate by itself will secure a team wipe.
How team-ups change the skill choice
Team-up availability depends on the current roster and team-up system. Wolverine’s official character page describes two effects that can change how you approach an engagement:

- Cyclops: The interaction extends Wolverine’s claw reach and replaces Vicious Rampage with Kinetic Claws. The September 11, 2026 update increased Kinetic Claws’ percentage damage per hit per Rage point from 0.01% to 0.012%. When this team-up is active, account for the changed reach and attack option rather than assuming the standard kit.
- Gambit: Pair of Threes is described as boosting movement and jump height and applying delayed bonus damage; its enhanced effect also provides continuous healing. The movement benefits can affect how you enter or continue a fight.
These are different kinds of help: Cyclops changes Wolverine’s claw reach and attack, while Gambit’s described effect emphasizes mobility, delayed damage, and healing. Which is preferable depends on what the active team-up offers in your match and what your team needs.
A practical decision checklist
Before committing to a target, weigh these factors together rather than following a fixed button sequence:
Rank #4
- Wolverine (GAMERVERSE) "GAMERVERSE", S.H.Figuarts
- Wolverine joins the S.H.Figuarts GAMERVERSE series! His signature expressions are recreated with interchangeable head parts: a gritted-teeth face and a shouting face!
- Claw parts are included for both fists and expressive open hands
- A special-move backdrop sheet lets you recreate his finishing-move scenes!
- [Set Contents] Main body, Interchangeable head part, Interchangeable opening wrist parts (left and right), Open hand claw parts (left and right), Grip wrist cover parts (left and right), Special move effect mount
- Can you reach and stay on the target? Consider Feral Leap, the target’s position, and whether you have a path to follow up.
- Will your attacks matter against this target? Savage Claw’s maximum-health and Rage-based damage make target health and your current Rage relevant.
- Can you survive the engagement? Consider when to trigger Regenerative Healing Factor and whether enemy control or focused damage can stop you.
- Can allies follow up? Last Stand’s gather and landing matter more when teammates can act on the opening.
- Is a team-up active? Cyclops changes reach and the available claw attack; Gambit’s described effect changes mobility and adds delayed damage and healing.
Is there one best Wolverine ability?
No official comparative study in the cited character and balance material establishes a single winning skill priority across maps, ranks, matchups, or team compositions. The reliable practical approach is to treat Savage Claw as the main close-range pressure, use Feral Leap to create a viable engage, and reserve Regenerative Healing Factor for a meaningful survival window. Adjust that plan to the target, Rage, enemy response, and team-up in the match.
