Blade Assault is a single-player, 2D action roguelite platformer built around fast attacks, evasive movement, and weapons that can be reconfigured during a run. Steam’s retrieved user-review snapshot was Mostly Positive—74% positive from 1,817 reviews on October 8, 2026—but that figure reflects Steam users, not professional critics, and can change.
What kind of game is Blade Assault?
Developed by TeamSuneat and published by NEOWIZ, Blade Assault is a single-player action roguelite set in a desolate science-fiction world. How do combat and weapon builds work?
Combat is organized around playable characters with transformable weapons. Cores and randomly appearing Transform Upgrades let players alter weapon configurations, giving a run opportunities for build variation rather than locking every fight to one fixed setup.

- 17 Levels - Each one with its own atmosphere, foes and secrets to discover
- 5 Bosses - Made by the most sadistic of the devs, raised on the salt of the testers
- 150 or so weapons and skills - Spears, swords, bows, magic spells, shields, pets, frying pans etc; You name it, we got it
- Unlock the four original Dead Cells DLCs, giving you late-game content plus an entire new pathway to follow, with an alternative ending and tons of new enemies, weapons & outfits
- Battle through the corridors of Dracula’s Castle; Wield weapons against monsters to reach the throne room of the Dark Lord
That system is the clearest reason to consider the game if you enjoy action roguelites: success depends on using movement and attacks while shaping a weapon setup as a run develops. The storefront descriptions establish those mechanics, but they do not establish how responsive the controls feel, how much meaningful variety builds offer over repeated runs, or how the difficulty is balanced. Those judgments require hands-on play rather than inference from genre or feature lists.
What do the reviews say?
Steam’s listing showed 74% positive user reviews out of 1,817, categorized as “Mostly Positive,” when retrieved on October 8, 2026. This is a platform-specific snapshot, not a permanent rating: both the review count and percentage may change. Check the live Steam listing for its current figure.

The available evidence does not establish a critic-review aggregate or a representative set of professional reviews. The Steam percentage should therefore be read as the sentiment of users who reviewed the game there, not as a critics’ consensus or a measure of what every player will think.
Is Blade Assault worth playing?
Blade Assault is worth considering if you want a single-player, pixel-art action roguelite whose central hook is changing up transformable weapons through run-dependent upgrades. The Steam user snapshot is more positive than negative, but it cannot answer whether the action, replay value, difficulty, or progression will suit you personally.
