Its appeal rests on cinematic presentation and hands-on weapon and object interactions; its main caveats are guided movement and pacing issues noted by at least one reviewer. You need the PS VR headset and PlayStation Camera to play, but PlayStation lists either Move motion controllers or a DualShock 4 as an input option.
What kind of game is Blood & Truth?
PlayStation describes Blood & Truth as a PS VR action game set in modern-day London. Rather than a conventional flat-screen shooter, it directs you through scenes while making physical actions part of play. PlayStation’s hands-on overview describes guided movement and actions such as reaching to a holster to draw a weapon.
The game grew out of The London Heist, a PlayStation VR Worlds experience. PlayStation.Blog says that earlier VR experience helped set the production of Blood & Truth in motion. The official presentation also pairs classic movie-style orchestral scoring with London grime, giving the game a deliberately cinematic, distinctly local identity.
What do reviews say about Blood & Truth?
UploadVR’s review praises the performances and describes the game as a notable PSVR production, while also pointing to frustrating movement and pacing. That is one publication’s assessment, not proof that every player will respond the same way. The available review evidence does not establish a cross-publication consensus or an aggregate score.

- PlayStation VR2 Sense technology: Eye tracking. Headset feedback. 3D Audio. Highly intuitive controls – Haptic Feedback, Adaptive Triggers and Finger Touch Detection
- Cutting-edge performance
- 4K HDR visuals
- 110º field of view
- Advanced graphical rendering
Those observations suggest useful questions for prospective players: do you enjoy a directed, cinematic campaign, and are you comfortable with movement that is guided rather than fully flexible? The physical interactions are a central part of the concept, but the evidence here does not establish how comfortable the game will feel for any particular player.
How do the controls and interactions work?
PlayStation lists two controller choices: PlayStation Move motion controllers or a DualShock 4 wireless controller. Move is optional, not a requirement. The official material emphasizes hands-on actions, including weapon handling and drawing from a holster.

Stuart Whyte, Director of VR Product Development at London Studio, described the intended Move interactions this way: “For example, shoot and you will feel vibrations through the Move controllers, reload your gun with both hands as if you are really gripping a weapon and push buttons exactly as you would in real life”. That is a developer’s description of the design intent, rather than independent evidence that every player will experience the actions in the same way.
What equipment do you need to play?
For the PS4 version, PlayStation says a PlayStation VR headset and PlayStation Camera are required. A compatible controller is also needed; PlayStation lists Move motion controllers and DualShock 4 as the options. Move is optional, so do not treat it as a mandatory purchase.
