No—not in vanilla Minecraft. Copper is not among the blocks listed for a beacon pyramid; use iron, gold, diamond, emerald, or netherite blocks instead. A datapack or mod can change that rule, but support for copper blocks and copper ingots as payment are separate features.

Which blocks work in a vanilla beacon pyramid?

The consulted Minecraft Wiki beacon reference lists blocks of iron, gold, diamond, emerald, and netherite as pyramid materials. Copper is not on that list, so a copper-block pyramid will not activate a beacon in an unmodified game. Minecraft Wiki: Beacon

Mojang’s Java Edition 1.21.9 notes, published September 30, 2025, describe numerous Copper Age additions but do not announce copper beacon support. Those notes provide context for that release; they are not an exhaustive list of beacon rules. Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.9

What changes in a datapack or mod?

Some community projects alter which blocks a beacon accepts. Check the specific project’s edition and Minecraft-version compatibility before installing it; a project listing is not evidence that its files work with every current release.

Copper Block Beacon Base (Modrinth) Listing says any solid copper block can be used. Listing says copper ingots can be used as payment. Lists Java Edition; check the listing for current compatible versions.
Copper 4 Beacon (CurseForge) Listing says copper is added to the beacon base-block tag. No. Its datapack does not enable copper ingots in the payment menu. Published files are listed through Minecraft 1.19.4; do not assume compatibility with newer releases.

The two projects do not offer identical behavior: one listing describes both copper base blocks and copper ingot payment, while the other describes base-block support only. Their descriptions also do not imply that every copper-related mod or datapack behaves the same way.

Will a copper beacon have an orange beam?

Not necessarily. The Copper 4 Beacon listing specifically says its datapack does not make the beam orange. That describes that project, not all modifications. Check a mod or datapack’s own description for beam-color behavior rather than inferring it from the base material. Copper 4 Beacon
