Resident Evil Requiem shifts between Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy, whose sections have distinct gameplay styles. The most useful beginner habit is to change your approach with the character: consider blood and crafting when playing as Grace, and use Leon’s combat tools deliberately rather than assuming every encounter calls for the same response.
How should you adapt when the game switches characters?
Capcom presents Grace and Leon as contrasting experiences, and Epic’s beginner guide likewise highlights their different mechanics. Treat each switch as a cue to reassess how you handle threats and resources, not as a reason to carry one combat routine through the whole campaign. The game’s mix of horror and action is intentional: Resident Evil Series Executive Producer Jun Takeuchi described the title as combining “the two hearts of the series—horror and action” in Capcom’s March 22, 2026 anniversary message.
What should you know about Grace’s blood crafting?
Grace can use infected enemy blood to craft items, ammunition, and Hemolytic Injectors, according to the official PlayStation game page. That makes blood a resource to consider when deciding how to handle infected enemies: fighting can affect what you have available to craft, while crafting uses those resources for other purposes.
There is no established universal recipe order or fixed amount of blood available in every area. Avoid treating a single crafting priority as mandatory; consider what you need and how you prefer to manage threats as you play.

What combat advice applies to Grace and Leon?
Epic’s beginner tips guide recommends targeting infected enemies’ heads when possible. It also calls out Grace’s Hemolytic Injector and Leon’s hatchet and high-caliber guns as relevant tools. This is general guidance, not a guarantee that every enemy has the same vulnerability or that fighting is always the best choice.
- As Grace: account for the Hemolytic Injector and her blood-based crafting when weighing combat options.
- As Leon: make use of his hatchet or high-caliber guns when appropriate, while adapting to the situation rather than relying on one tool alone.
Is Capcom’s linked game data required?
No requirement to link an account for ordinary campaign play is established. Capcom’s Resident Evil Portal offers linked play progress, statistics, records, and global stats as optional extras for supported game accounts. Use them if you want to review play data; they are not presented as a prerequisite for finishing the game.

Capcom reported that Resident Evil Requiem had passed 6 million units sold worldwide by March 22, 2026. That is a dated milestone reported in the company’s anniversary notice, not a current or ongoing sales total.
