Yes—but in unmodded Valheim, you estimate the time from the sky and surrounding light rather than reading a standard digital clock. The sun, moon, and shadows can help when they are visible; a clock mod is an optional way to get a numeric display.
How Valheim’s day and night cycle works
The Valheim Gamecore Wiki describes a full cycle as 30 real-world minutes: 21 minutes of daylight and 9 minutes of night. It maps daylight to 06:00–18:00 in a 24-hour notation. Because daylight and night take different amounts of real time, the game’s mapped hours should not be treated as advancing at one constant rate throughout the cycle. The Gamecore reference says in-game minutes advance at different rates during day and night.
Estimate the time from the environment
- In open, clear areas: Use the sun’s position and the direction and length of shadows as rough clues to the daylight portion of the cycle.
- At night: The moon can help you tell that it is nighttime, but visual cues are estimates rather than a precise readout.
- Indoors, underground, in dense fog, or in persistently dark biomes: The sky may be hidden or provide unreliable cues, so you may not be able to estimate the time consistently.
When weather obscures the sky, the environmental method becomes less useful; the cited mechanics reference does not establish a reliable way to read exact time from rain or overcast conditions.

Use a clock mod
ArcanumClock is an optional client-side mod whose Thunderstore listing advertises world time, a day counter, and a sun/moon dial. It is not a built-in vanilla interface feature. Check that the mod supports your game build and mod setup before installing, especially because Valheim’s official site lists version 1.0.17, dated October 6, 2026. Use the developer console only if you need developer commands
