Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Season 3 Reloaded introduced Weapon Prestige Camos, a per-weapon cosmetic progression system. Its first reward, One Trick, was an animated molten-gold finish unlocked by earning 150,000 Weapon XP on a weapon. The update launched May 1, 2024; the rules below describe the feature as officially documented, not a fresh test of the live game.
What Season 3 Reloaded added
Season 3 Reloaded arrived on May 1, 2024, at 9 AM PT, according to Blizzard Entertainment’s announcement. Among its additions to Modern Warfare III was Weapon Prestige Camos: a progression system that rewarded Weapon XP earned on individual weapons.

The official patch-notes page is dated May 14, 2024, and includes changes from that date as well as the Season 3 Reloaded content. Its Season 3 Reloaded section documents the update that launched May 1. The broader update also brought multiplayer maps and modes, the BAL-27 assault rifle, and content for Modern Warfare Zombies and Warzone, but the prestige-camo system was its new long-term weapon progression feature.
How do you unlock Weapon Prestige Camos?
- Max-level the weapon. Activision Support says a weapon must reach its maximum level before its Weapon Prestige Camo can be unlocked.
- Earn the required Weapon XP on that weapon. Accumulate XP using the weapon you want to prestige. The applicable requirement is displayed in-game; for One Trick, the official Season 3 patch notes specify 150,000 Weapon XP.
- Apply the reward to the same weapon. The camo is tied to the weapon used to earn it, rather than being a universal account unlock that can be moved to another weapon.
The system was designed around repeatable, weapon-by-weapon progression rather than a single account-wide camo unlock. The official notes say Weapon Prestige Camos are earned per weapon and describe the system as a continuing progression path for future seasons. How much Weapon XP do you need for One Trick?
One Trick required 150,000 Weapon XP on the weapon being progressed, according to Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch’s Season 3 patch notes. Activision Support says the game displays the required XP for the applicable camo. The 150,000 figure is the official stated requirement for One Trick; it is not a measured estimate of how many matches or hours earning it takes.
What does the One Trick camo look like?
One Trick was the debut Weapon Prestige Camo. The developers describe it as coating the weapon’s entire surface in molten gold, with an animated finish. Because it is earned for a specific weapon, unlocking it on one weapon does not unlock it for the rest of the arsenal.

Can you unlock Weapon Prestige Camos for MWII weapons?
Yes. The official rules included eligible weapons carried forward from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, alongside Modern Warfare III weapons. The same per-weapon requirements apply: max-level the weapon, earn the XP requirement shown in-game, and use the resulting camo on the weapon that earned it.
Do later-season prestige camos stay unlockable?
Activision Support says a prestige camo from a future season requires unlocking all prestige camos from earlier seasons first. It also says season-specific prestige camos remain available to unlock after their original season, so missing a season does not by itself remove the earlier reward from the progression path.

What to know about the dates and current rules
May 1, 2024, at 9 AM PT is the announced Season 3 Reloaded launch time. May 14, 2024, is the date displayed on the patch-notes page, not the launch date of the update’s Season 3 Reloaded content. Activision Support documents the eligibility and unlock rules, but those published materials do not establish whether requirements or availability are unchanged in the 2026 live-game build.
