Which battery pack should you choose?
Choose Xbox’s kit if your controller has USB-C
The official Xbox Rechargeable Battery + USB-C Cable is the most straightforward choice if your controller has a USB-C port and you want to recharge without removing the battery. Xbox says you can recharge while playing or afterward, including when the console is in standby. Its published figures are up to 30 hours per charge and under four hours for a full charge. The product page gives November 10, 2020 as its release date; that date does not establish compatibility with every Xbox One controller revision. Check Xbox’s product details before buying.
Choose PowerA’s two-battery kit if you want a charged spare
The PowerA Play & Charge Kit includes two batteries, so you can keep one charged while using the other. Its listed package includes Xbox One battery doors and a 10-foot cable, and PowerA claims up to 20 hours per battery. The manufacturer excludes Elite Series 2. Consider PDP’s Metavolt kit as another two-battery option
PDP lists two 1200mAh batteries, four battery doors and a 10-foot cable, with up to 20 hours per charge. It is explicitly listed for Xbox One and Series X|S wireless controllers, but not Elite Series 2. Choose a single PowerA pack if one battery is enough
PowerA’s XBPW0191-01 is a one-battery option with a charge-through door. The manufacturer lists a 1100mAh NiMH battery, 20+ hours of use per recharge and about three hours to charge. Its product description says the cable or charging stand is sold separately, so check whether you already have a compatible charging setup before treating it as a complete kit. Check the pack’s current contents.

Choose rechargeable AA cells for flexibility across devices
Rechargeable AA batteries and a separate charger are a practical alternative if you use cells in other electronics or prefer to keep a spare pair ready. The trade-off is that charging happens outside the controller and you swap loose cells rather than charging an installed pack. No comparable runtime figure is established for this option.

Those claims alone do not establish which battery lasts longest in ordinary play. For a practical choice, weigh the port and controller fit first, then whether you need a second battery, a charging cable or stand, and the convenience of charging while playing. Compare current price and warranty terms on the exact listing; the cited product details do not provide a common basis for ranking those factors.
