Yes—but it depends on what you want to skip. Some players may be offered a prompt to skip the GTA Online introduction after creating a character, while Rockstar says many mission cutscenes can be skipped only after they have been viewed once. These are separate features, and neither means every tutorial or cutscene is skippable.
Can you skip the GTA Online tutorial?
A tutorial-skip prompt may appear after character creation, but the introduction can differ by game edition. GamesRadar describes the prompt as an option for new players; it is not a guarantee that every player will see it. GamesRadar’s beginner guide recommends playing the introduction if you are new, since it introduces activities such as races, missions, shopping, robberies, and contacts.

Edition-specific details come from community-maintained GTA Wiki context: its Introduction entry says the Introduction remains in GTAV Enhanced, with an option to skip after character creation, while Expanded and Enhanced replaces it with Career Builder. Because this distinction is secondary-source guidance and menus can vary, check the options shown in your current game rather than assuming the same prompt applies to every edition.
Can you skip GTA Online mission cutscenes?
Yes, many can—but only after you have viewed them once. Rockstar’s GTAV Title Update 1.71 Notes, dated June 17, 2025 and last updated August 28, 2025, state: “Players can now choose to skip many cutscenes that take place during missions, provided they have been viewed once before”.

The update notes cover PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC Enhanced/Legacy. Rockstar says “many,” not all, and does not list every eligible scene or specify one universal button. If you have already watched a scene and no skip option appears, that scene may not be eligible; check the prompts shown in your current game build.

Advice about skipping the GTA V Story Mode prologue concerns a different part of the game. It does not establish whether you can skip the GTA Online introduction or a particular Online mission cutscene. For Online, the key distinction is whether you mean the initial tutorial or a mission scene—and, for cutscenes, whether you have already viewed it once.
