Yes, Black Ops 7 has Tac Sprint—but it is no longer the default movement option in Multiplayer. Players can choose a Perk that grants Tactical Sprint, while Treyarch says all Operators have a higher baseline movement speed. Omnimovement returns in a refined form, with Wall Jump as the newly described addition.
What changes in Black Ops 7 Multiplayer?
- Tac Sprint becomes a Perk choice. Tactical Sprint is a limited-duration burst faster than standard sprint. It is not the default option; players who want it must select a Perk that grants it. Call of Duty’s September 2025 recap and the August 2025 reveal describe the change.
- Baseline movement speed is higher, according to Treyarch. The publisher says all Operators benefit from increased base movement speed. It does not give a numeric speed comparison, so this should not be read as a measured figure or a guarantee about how fast a match feels.
- Wall Jump joins the movement options. Operators can chain up to three Wall Jumps to cross gaps or reach higher surfaces. Each successive jump reduces momentum and distance, limiting how far the chain carries you.
What does “refined Omnimovement” mean?
Activision describes Black Ops 7’s Omnimovement as a refinement of the system introduced in Black Ops 6. The official recap details Wall Jump, but does not provide numeric movement speeds, frame timings, or a controlled comparison with Black Ops 6. “Refined” is the publisher’s characterization, not a quantified performance claim.
Why is Tac Sprint no longer on by default?
Treyarch says it adjusted core movement after considering feedback, aiming for a more controlled experience and improved Multiplayer flow and map pacing. In an Xbox Wire interview published August 19, 2025, associate creative director Miles Leslie explained: “We’re integrating feedback on core movement as well, by removing Tactical Sprint by default and allowing players to build into that and other combat options through the updated Perk system.”
The studio also describes maps designed to leave room for Omnimovement while maintaining clear lanes, controlled sightlines, cover-to-combat play, and tactical positioning. Those are design goals; the statements do not establish that every player will experience the pacing the same way.

How does this compare with Black Ops 6?
| Movement detail | Black Ops 7 | Comparison supported by official material |
|---|---|---|
| Tac Sprint | Not the default in Multiplayer; available through a Perk. | Black Ops 7 makes it a Perk choice. The cited material does not give a numerical comparison of its speed or duration with Black Ops 6. |
| Baseline speed | Activision says all Operators have higher baseline movement speed. | The direction of change is stated, but no numeric value or controlled comparison is supplied. |
| Omnimovement | Returns in a form Activision calls refined. | The official recap identifies Black Ops 6 as the system’s introduction; it does not quantify the refinements. |
| Wall Jump | Can be chained up to three times; each successive jump reduces momentum and distance. | Wall Jump is the newly described addition in the recap. |
Do Multiplayer and Zombies use the same movement perks?
No. The official recap describes Zombies separately: it says baseline movement speed is increased and Tac Sprint is available via the Sprinter Perk. It places Combat Roll under Mountaineer. Those Zombies references should not be treated as the Multiplayer perk setup; the modes have distinct details.
