The 2024 Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta was a multiplayer preview built around Omnimovement and a selection of new maps and modes. Activision described Omnimovement as letting players sprint, slide and dive in any direction. Although the assignment’s original headline refers to an interview, no identifiable interview transcript or speaker is established here; the available details come from Activision’s official beta announcements and guides.
What Omnimovement means in Black Ops 6
Activision describes Omnimovement as a full 360-degree range of motion: players can sprint, slide and dive in any direction rather than being limited to forward movement. That is the publisher’s description of the feature, not an independent finding about how it affects balance or performance.

The official Call of Duty guide promoted the feature this way: “Feel Omnimovement for yourself and experience the most fluid Call of Duty movement to date that allows players to sprint, slide, and dive in any direction.” The sentence is promotional copy; the guide does not attribute it to an individual speaker. Activision’s Call of Duty: NEXT guide also points beginners to the Training Course on Protocol, led by Frank Woods.
When the Black Ops 6 beta took place
The beta ran in two windows in 2024. The first was an early-access period for players who preordered and eligible Game Pass subscribers; the second was the broader Weekend Two period. Both have ended.

What maps and modes were in the beta?
Activision’s Call of Duty: NEXT guide describes the maps and modes available in the beta and identifies the additions for Weekend Two. That weekend added two maps, Gunfight and Face Off Kill Order, alongside the content from the first weekend. The guide does not make the beta roster equivalent to the eventual full-game map lineup.
Protocol had a separate role for new players: its Training Course offered an introduction to movement, with Frank Woods leading the course. This gives the beta’s movement showcase a practical starting point rather than requiring players to learn every mechanic in live matches.

How the beta differed from the launch game
The beta was a preview, not a complete count of the maps shipped at launch. Activision’s product page lists 16 multiplayer maps at launch: 12 core maps for 6v6 and four Strike maps playable in 2v2 or 6v6. Those are launch figures, distinct from the two-map Weekend Two addition in the beta. Activision’s Black Ops 6 product page provides the launch breakdown.

Physical console editions were available, but compatibility depends on the console and edition. Activision Support’s edition guide specifies:
- The Xbox Cross-Gen Bundle plays on Xbox Series X and Xbox One.
- The physical PS5 edition plays on PS5 only.
- The PS4 Cross-Gen Bundle includes a digital PS5 code, but the disc is required to play that PS5 version.
- Physical editions do not work on Xbox Series S or a digital-only PS5.
Disc ownership also does not necessarily mean the game is a complete offline installation. Activision’s installation guide directs disc buyers to install the Call of Duty experience and download Black Ops 6. Activision says texture streaming requires a continuous internet connection for all modes, including Campaign.
