To open blue chests in Octopath Traveler 0, clear chapter 5 of The Flamebearer, build the church in Wishvale, and upgrade it to rank 3. The locations below pair reported rewards with directions where available. Published guides differ on which chests they include, so this is a working location list—not a confirmed complete count.
How to unlock blue chests
Blue chests are locked until you upgrade Wishvale’s church. Game8 Japan says the church becomes available after clearing chapter 5 of The Flamebearer; its progression note estimates that this point falls around chapter 5 of Bestower of All in chapter 2.

- Clear chapter 5 of The Flamebearer.
- Build the church in Wishvale.

Use the area name and landmark together when searching. The locations and rewards below combine entries from Game8 Japan and game-wiki.net; not every entry appears in both lists, and some English item names may be approximate translations. “No direction listed” means the cited list gives an area and reward without a more precise landmark.
