AncientRune’s level-70 Aim On is the strongest current candidate for Amon players who want a flexible standard-gun build focused on raw boss damage. Its creator calls it Amon’s strongest build for that role, but the same guide says heavy ordnance is better for mobbing. That makes “best” a question of what you’re fighting—not a proven universal ranking.
What is the best Amon build in Borderlands 4?
For bossing with standard guns, Aim On is the clearest level-70 candidate in the available build coverage. AncientRune’s Mobalytics guide was updated September 22, 2026, for the official level-70 update. The author describes the setup as a flexible, everyday gun build and says it is Amon’s strongest option for raw bossing. Those are the creator’s assessments, not independently verified rankings.

The author recommends Force of Nature for boss damage and Calamity for an easy bonus element and survivability. Stormcutter is described as a way to trigger detonations, extend action-skill duration, and restore action-skill and ordnance cooldowns. Gear is flexible, not a fixed shopping list
Aim On’s equipment section offers options across weapons and configurations, grenades, shields, class mods, repkits, enhancements, firmware, and specializations. It suggests Slippy as the main grenade, Watts 4 Dinner as a preferred shield, and class mods such as Damned or Shatterwight for different content. The guide’s flexibility is part of its appeal: players should choose among its options for their activity and available drops instead of treating every named item as a requirement.
- For boss damage: the creator emphasizes Force of Nature and presents Aim On as the raw-bossing choice.
- For mobbing: the guide says heavy ordnance is better; Pyroclast is one Aim On option for extending duration.
- For weapon freedom: the guide characterizes Aim On as usable with any gun, but that is promotional build framing, not proof that every weapon performs equally.
What the “best possible” claim does—and does not—establish
The title’s strongest-build language belongs to the build creator. The Mobalytics page does not show a controlled benchmark, repeatable test protocol, or independent comparison that proves Aim On is the best Amon build in every activity. It is more accurate to call it a strong, current candidate for standard-gun bossing, with a separate heavy-ordnance direction favored for mobbing.

Amon had multiple build directions before the level-70 Aim On guide. PC Gamer’s September 25, 2025 guide covered separate Vengeance ordnance and Cybernetics action-skill approaches. That article is useful as historical context for Amon’s archetypes, but it predates the level-70 build and should not be treated as current endgame advice.

When choosing between Amon setups, start with activity type, then consider how much you value weapon choice, action-skill uptime, survivability, and dependence on particular gear interactions. On the evidence available, Aim On is the most relevant candidate for flexible standard-gun bossing; heavy ordnance is the better stated fit for mob clearing.
