How to lower your Mythic Keystone
- Find Lindormi, the Mythic Keystone NPC, in the current capital or Mythic+ hub.
- Speak with her and choose the option to reduce your keystone level. The exact current dialogue label is not confirmed by the official current-season information cited here.
- Repeat the request until the key reaches the level you want. The NPC reference describes each request as lowering the key by one level. Wowhead’s Lindormi reference covers the NPC service.
If you do not see a downgrade option, make sure the keystone is in your character’s possession and that you are interacting with the Keystone NPC—not a nearby portal, upgrade, or exchange NPC.
Where to find the NPC in Midnight Season 1
The exact downgrade location is expansion-sensitive. Blizzard’s current Midnight Season 1 announcement identifies Lindormi in Silvermoon or the Timeways for a separate reward exchange, but does not specifically confirm those locations or dialogue for lowering a key. Treat them as useful places to check, not as an officially verified downgrade location.
For historical context, Blizzard’s Shadowlands Season 2 announcement documented keystone reduction as an NPC service, naming Ta’hsup in Oribos. That confirms the service existed, but Ta’hsup’s location is not a guide to the current expansion.

Lowering a key is different from depleting or rerolling it

A resilient keystone has a floor below which it will not automatically deplete. Blizzard’s Midnight Season 1 announcement explains the season’s floor progression, and its current-season achievement information shows the related thresholds.

That protection concerns automatic depletion. Blizzard explicitly said in a prior-season note that a player could still manually lower a resilient key below its floor by speaking to Lindormi: Blizzard’s resilient-keystone note. The current Midnight official pages cited here do not restate that exception, so check the live NPC dialogue if you need to know whether it applies to a specific current key.
