Who is C4SH in Borderlands 4?
C4SH is a former casino dealer bot turned drifter who becomes a Vault Hunter. In the Story Pack’s backstory, he wins a high-stakes card game and gains a magical deck that grants eldritch boons. His appetite for unpredictable outcomes drives him toward the risks of Vault hunting. 2K’s character overview introduced him as the first of two new Vault Hunters planned for paid Borderlands 4 DLC; the March 26, 2026 launch notes confirm that he and Story Pack 1 are now available.

How do C4SH’s skills work?
C4SH has three Action Skills, each paired with a skill tree. Their themes are dice, a magical card deck, and dual revolvers. Gearbox Senior Character Designer Tommy Westerman says their randomness ranges from slight to substantial, while Augments give players ways to influence the results.

The interview also describes an unusual tree structure: C4SH has no Capstones. Instead, each tree offers a skill that grants an additional Augment slot. How to unlock and play as C4SH
C4SH is part of Story Pack 1, so access requires the DLC as well as the Borderlands 4 base game. The Story Pack was included in the Vault Hunter Pack and Super Deluxe Edition, or could be bought separately. Borderlands 4 is listed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store; check the relevant storefront for current package and availability details. The 2K announcement lists the platforms and original package options.
- Own Borderlands 4 and Story Pack 1, either through a qualifying bundle or edition or as a separate DLC purchase.
- To enter the Story Pack content with an existing character, complete the “A Lot to Process” mission in the Fadefields.
- The content is recommended for Vault Hunters level 13 or higher. Alternatively, owners can create a new level 13 character who starts in the Story Pack content.
Once unlocked, C4SH can be played across the game’s zones, according to the launch notes.

What else is in Story Pack 1?
Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned takes players to the Whispering Glacier for a story involving Ellie, a cosmic threat, and an alien monolith. 2K described the story as self-contained and said it does not require prior knowledge of returning characters. The pack also adds side missions, activities, collectibles, new enemy types, and boss encounters.
