Yes—but the steps depend on the game. Epic documents a manual repair for Fortnite using files already in Fortnite’s installation folder; it is not a universal Easy Anti-Cheat installer. For another game, use that game’s official support instructions or contact its support team.
How to repair Easy Anti-Cheat in Fortnite
Epic’s instructions apply to the Fortnite launch error “Easy Anti-cheat is not installed.” They use the EAC files included with Fortnite, rather than a separate download. Follow the steps below only for Fortnite:
- Open Epic Games Launcher, find Fortnite, open its Manage menu, then select Open Install Location.
- In the Fortnite folder, navigate to
FortniteGame > Binaries > Win64 > EasyAntiCheat. - Create a shortcut to
EasyAntiCheat. If you created the shortcut elsewhere, move it back into theEasyAntiCheatfolder. - Right-click the shortcut and open Properties. In the Target field, add a space followed by
repairafter the existing text. Select OK. - Run the shortcut and choose Allow Changes if prompted. Then launch Fortnite to check whether the repair worked.

What to do for another EAC game
Do not assume Fortnite’s folder path or shortcut command will work for a different title. Easy Anti-Cheat’s player support index directs players to the relevant game’s support channel. Check that game’s official help pages for a repair or launcher file-verification option, or contact its support team with the game name, launcher, and exact error message.

Why you should use the game’s own setup files
Epic’s developer documentation describes EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe as a Windows service installer used to install, repair, or uninstall the service. In that developer context, the game distributes the executable in an EasyAntiCheat directory, and installation uses the game’s ProductId. This is not a recommendation to download a standalone installer from an unofficial source. Use files supplied with your game and follow its publisher’s instructions. If the repair does not resolve the error
- Confirm you followed instructions for the affected game, not another EAC title.
- Use the game publisher’s official support route for the next troubleshooting step; available repair and verification options vary by game.
- Avoid unofficial EAC downloads and third-party “driver updater” or repair utilities. The documented Fortnite repair uses game-provided files.
