What Windows versions does Roblox support?
Roblox’s current computer hardware and operating system requirements say: “PC/Windows: Roblox will install on 64-bit versions of Windows 10, or Windows 11.” Windows 7 is not included in that list. This means Roblox does not currently document Windows 7 as a supported way to install and play the PC client.
Why do some older pages mention Windows 7?
A Roblox staff announcement on August 8, 2019 said that support for Windows XP and Vista would end on August 28, 2019, and that users of those systems would need Windows 7 or later. That was guidance about replacing XP or Vista at the time, not a promise of ongoing Windows 7 support. For current Windows compatibility, Roblox’s present requirements are the relevant source.
Does the Microsoft Store app work on Windows 7?
Roblox’s Microsoft Store app announcement describes the newer app, named “Roblox – Windows,” and tells Windows users to download it to keep playing. It does not say that the app supports Windows 7, so it should not be treated as a Windows 7 fix.

What if you mean Roblox Studio?
Roblox Studio is a separate application for creating experiences, not the player client. Roblox announced that Studio support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 would end starting March 20, 2025, and that Windows 10 or higher would be required. That Studio notice is separate from the player’s compatibility requirements.
What should a PC meet to run Roblox?
For a Windows PC, Roblox’s requirements specify 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 and DirectX 10 or higher feature-level support. Roblox recommends at least 1 GB of memory and at least 300 MB of system storage. It also recommends an internet connection of 4–8 Mb/s for a single-use household. These are the requirements and recommendations stated by Roblox; meeting them does not change the fact that Windows 7 is not listed as supported.

Roblox also says it is not supported on Linux. Its Chrome OS entry requires Chrome OS version 53 or later and Google Play Store enabled; those requirements apply only to a compatible Chromebook.

If the PC runs Windows 7, the supported route is to use a device with 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 that also meets Roblox’s graphics and hardware requirements. Avoid unofficial installers or compatibility patches: Roblox’s published requirements do not identify them as a way to make the Windows client work on Windows 7.
