Black Myth: Wukong reached 2,415,714 concurrent players on Steam on 22 August 2024, surpassing the all-time peaks for Palworld and Counter-Strike 2. It did not take the top spot: PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS remains ahead in SteamDB’s all-time chart.
How many players did Black Myth: Wukong have on Steam?
SteamDB lists Wukong’s all-time Steam concurrent-player peak as 2,415,714 on 22 August 2024. That is the highest number of people SteamDB recorded playing the game simultaneously on Steam, not its total sales, unique players, or audience across all platforms.
At the time of its launch, Wukong had already passed Palworld’s earlier peak. GameSpot reported on 20 August 2024 that the game had exceeded 2.2 million concurrent Steam players. That was a contemporaneous milestone, not Wukong’s later final peak.

What does “most played on Steam” mean here?
In this comparison, “most played” means the greatest number of concurrent players recorded for an individual game on Steam at one time. It does not mean the current player count, the number of Steam users online overall, or a count of everyone who has ever played the game. It also does not combine players on Steam with those on other platforms.
