The official store descriptions send Bubsy back into space: the Woolies steal Earth’s sheep and turn them into BaaBots, prompting Bubsy to set out in pursuit of the Golden Fleece. The premise gives the platforming a colorful science-fiction setting rather than a realistic one.

Movement is the main attraction
The documented moves include jumping, double jumping, gliding, pouncing, wall climbing, and transforming into a fast-moving hairball. What has been said about Bubsy 4D’s reception?
Creative Bloq’s individual review calls it a neat platformer but says it does not fully impress, citing limitations and frustrations. That is one reviewer’s assessment, not a consensus across critics. In a separate development feature, Creative Bloq identifies Ben Miller as lead developer. Miller describes the team’s controller work as a modular toolkit built on Unity, saying: “We’ve now been making 3D platformers for five-ish years, and we’ve been building up all these tools on top of Unity, and all of that is a modular set for building out these 3D character controllers,” Creative Bloq’s development feature.
