CarX Street’s available critic reviews are mixed-to-positive, but the sample is too small to represent broad critical consensus. Metacritic lists three Xbox Series X reviews, all dated June 18, 2025, scoring the game 85, 80 and 65; it says a Metascore is unavailable until four critic reviews are recorded. Those reviews point to enjoyable street racing and a classic feel, alongside complaints about roughness, drifting and frustrating design choices.

What scores did critics give CarX Street?

Metacritic’s Xbox Series X listing contains three critic reviews, each dated June 18, 2025. The scores span 20 points, so the small sample reflects different reactions rather than a settled verdict.

Outlet Score What its review excerpt highlights
Generación Xbox 85/100 Sees an imperfect independent game with a classic feel, particularly appealing to players seeking something different in driving games.
TheXboxHub 80/100 Praises the racing and challenge from traffic and opponents, while saying the drifting feels unusual and takes adjustment.
Gaming Nexus 65/100 Finds the game rough but enjoyable, and criticizes paid fuel refills and cross-traffic as frustrating design choices.

Metacritic’s critic-review listing says a Metascore is unavailable until four critic reviews have been recorded. With only three reviews in this listing, these scores should be read as a limited Xbox Series X snapshot—not a robust consensus across critics or platforms.

What do the reviews agree on—and where do they differ?

The racing has appeal

Generación Xbox emphasizes the game’s classic street-racing character and its appeal to people looking for an alternative to more familiar driving games. TheXboxHub likewise highlights the fun of racing, including the pressure created by other racers and traffic. Together, these comments suggest that the core attraction is the street-racing experience rather than polish or realism.

The rough edges affect the experience

TheXboxHub says the drifting has an unusual feel that players may learn to accommodate. Gaming Nexus is more critical of friction around fuel refills and cross-traffic, while still describing the game as enjoyable despite its jank. These are outlet-specific judgments, not evidence that every player will find the same systems frustrating.

Is CarX Street worth buying?

The available reviews point toward a better fit for players who value open-world street racing, tuning and a less conventional driving game than for those who prioritize polish or friction-free progression. Steam describes activities including club, drift, sprint, leaderboard and delivery events, as well as exploration, tuning, visual customization and multiplayer modes. Those are storefront-listed features, not independent findings about how well each mode works.

The critic scores cited here are for Xbox Series X. They do not establish how the game performs or feels on PC, iOS or PlayStation 5, so use reviews and current user feedback for the specific platform you plan to play on rather than treating the Xbox scores as universal.

Which platforms and release dates are listed?

Metacritic lists CarX Street for PC, iOS, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and gives June 18, 2025 as the initial release date. Steam lists the PC release as August 29, 2024. The two pages do not explain the difference, so the dates should be kept in their platform and source context rather than treated as one universal launch date.
