Steam appears to have been a major driver, but those platform figures come from an analytics estimate—not EA’s official sales breakdown.
How many copies did Battlefield 6 sell?
EA reported more than 7 million copies sold in Battlefield 6’s first three days after launch. That is a launch-window milestone announced on October 16, 2025, not a current lifetime-sales total. EA’s release also listed PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, the EA App, and the Epic Games Store. EA’s announcement is the primary source for the total and its franchise-record framing.

EA also said the three-day weekend brought more than 172 million online matches, over 15 million hours watched on streaming services, and the highest concurrent player count in Battlefield history. These are publisher-reported engagement figures, separate from the number of copies sold.
How much did Steam contribute?
Alinea Analytics estimated that Steam accounted for more than 3.5 million copies and over half of launch-window sales. HotHardware reported the estimate on October 16, 2025, attributing it to data Alinea shared with GamesIndustry.biz. EA did not publish a platform-by-platform sales breakdown. The same Alinea estimate put PlayStation 5 at 23.7% of sales and Xbox at 19.6%. These are estimated shares, not audited figures or an official EA breakdown. The reported percentages and Steam copy count should therefore be read as a snapshot of the launch window, not a definitive accounting across platforms.
Why do some reports give a lower total?
Before EA announced its figure, Tom’s Hardware reported an Alinea Analytics estimate of more than 6.5 million copies and over $350 million in gross revenue. That report estimated PC at 56.7% of sales, with more than 3.5 million copies and over $220 million in revenue. It was an earlier third-party estimate, not a competing official EA total. Are 7 million copies Battlefield 6’s current sales?
No current cumulative lifetime-sales total is established by these figures. EA’s announcement covers the first three days; the Alinea numbers cover the launch window. Neither supports extrapolating a present-day total from the early sales result.
