Electronic Arts said its anti-cheat systems had blocked 2.39 million cheat attempts since Battlefield 6 launched, in an update published November 28, 2025. That is the source of the rounded “2.4 million” headline—but it counts attempts, not 2.4 million distinct cheaters, players, or bans. EA’s newer figures show the effort continued: it reported 327,756 attempts prevented during August 2026.
What does “2.4 million cheat attempts” mean?
EA reported 2.39 million blocked cheat attempts since launch in its November 28, 2025 Season 1 anti-cheat update. The headline rounds that figure to 2.4 million. It is a count of attempts, not a count of unique people, accounts, or bans. One player or tool could generate multiple attempts, and EA describes blocking attempts separately from actions such as kicks, suspensions, and bans.

EA also reported more than 367,000 attempts prevented during launch weekend and over 1.2 million during the open beta. Those figures cover named periods; they should not be added to the since-launch total, because EA does not establish that they are separate from it.
What do EA’s newer anti-cheat figures show?
The 2.39 million figure is a historical cumulative headline from November 2025, not a current October 2026 total. In an update published October 2, 2026, EA reported activity for August, its latest monthly metrics available at that time.

| Measure | EA-reported result | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Cheat or tampering attempts prevented | 327,756 during August 2026 | Attempts EA says were stopped before they could affect matches. |
| Tracked cheat-related ecosystem | 110 programs, hardware solutions, vendors, resellers, and associated communities | The entities and tools EA said it was tracking. |
| Tracked entities with disruption indicators | 105 of 110 (95.45%) during the August update | EA reported feature failures, detection notices, downtime, or cheats being taken offline; this does not mean that 105 sellers were legally shut down. |
These are publisher-reported operational figures, not independently audited counts. The entity categories are broad, too: the total includes programs, hardware, vendors, resellers, and communities, not just cheat sellers.
How should you read the Match Infection Rate?
Blocked attempts and Match Infection Rate (MIR) answer different questions. Attempts count what anti-cheat systems prevent; MIR estimates the percentage of matches negatively affected by at least one cheater. EA says its MIR also includes suspected cheaters reported by players even when it may not have enough evidence to enforce against them.
Launch week: about 2%
In the week after launch, EA described its average MIR as about 2%, meaning it characterized roughly 98% of matches in that period as fair and free of cheater impact. This is a launch-week result from 2025, not a current rate.

August 2026: 3.24% at month’s end
EA’s October 2, 2026 update said MIR began August at 4.64%, reached a low of 2.89% on August 25, and ended at 3.24%. These August values and the launch-week average refer to different time periods, so they are not a like-for-like trend comparison.
How does Battlefield 6’s anti-cheat approach work?
EA describes a layered system involving Javelin, the game client and servers, operating-system security features, player reports, and internal operations tools. Its November 2025 update named Secure Boot, TPM 2.0, HVCI, and VBS among the security features appearing in system requirements. EA cautioned that Secure Boot by itself does not stop every form of cheating, saying: “Secure Boot isn’t a silver bullet to stop all cheating; but it is a barrier in of itself and enables other barriers.”
EA asks players to report suspected cheating through the in-game reporting flow. The company says those reports include telemetry that helps investigations; a report is a lead for review, not proof by itself that a player cheated.

What has EA said about cheat-enabling hardware?
On September 10, 2026, EA said it had raised concerns with Collective Minds, the manufacturer of Cronus Zen and Strike Pack, about third-party tools enabling cheating across multiple EA games. EA reported that EA-related content and scripts were removed from the devices’ public sites and Discord server. That account concerns the removal of EA-related material; it does not establish that the devices themselves were universally removed or that they have no accessibility uses.
EA’s November 2025 update specifically acknowledged that some players had relied on cheating hardware for accessibility and named the Xbox Adaptive Controller and PlayStation Access controller as official first-party alternatives. Those controllers are accessibility devices, not anti-cheat products.
What is the takeaway for Battlefield 6 players?
EA’s 2.39 million figure shows how many blocked attempts it reported since launch by November 28, 2025—not how many people it caught. The more recent August 2026 metrics indicate that EA was still reporting prevented attempts and match impact well after launch. Because the figures come from EA and use different measures and periods, read them as snapshots of the publisher’s stated anti-cheat activity rather than a single, independently verified measure of how much cheating players currently encounter.
