EA said Javelin blocked more than 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls after Battlefield 6 Open Beta Early Access began. That is a count of attempts—not 330,000 confirmed individual cheaters, bans, or players. It is also a historical beta figure, not the released game’s current cumulative total.
What does the 330,000 figure mean?
The EA Anticheat Team described the number as attempts “to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls.” The distinction matters: one person could make multiple attempts, and the figure does not say how many unique players were involved or how many were ultimately banned. EA also discussed player reports of potential cheaters separately; reports are not the same as confirmed cheating or blocked attempts. EA’s open-beta-era forum update ties the figure to the period since Open Beta Early Access began. The post’s exact publication date is not established here.
How the beta figure differs from later EA metrics
EA has published subsequent measures, but they cover different periods, scopes, and outcomes. They should not be added together or treated as a continuous Battlefield 6 total.
| Figure | What it measures | Scope and period |
|---|---|---|
| More than 330,000 | Attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls that Javelin prevented | Battlefield 6 open beta, since Open Beta Early Access began; EA Anticheat Team forum update |
| 226,592 | Attempts EA says it stopped before they could affect matches | Battlefield 6 through June 2026; EA’s August 7, 2026 metrics update |
| 6.59% Match Infection Rate | Share of matches negatively affected by at least one cheater, including suspected cases that may not meet EA’s enforcement evidence threshold | Battlefield 6 at the end of June 2026; EA’s August 7, 2026 metrics update |
| 26.7 million | Cheat attempts prevented | EA Javelin ecosystem-wide, over the preceding year as reported September 10, 2026—not Battlefield 6 alone |
The June figures come from EA’s Battlefield 6 anti-cheat metrics update. The broader annual figure comes from EA’s September 2026 Javelin update. Match Infection Rate (MIR) is a match-level measure, not a count of blocked attempts or punished accounts.

What Javelin and Secure Boot do on PC
Battlefield 6 requires Secure Boot for PC play. EA says Secure Boot helps counter cheats that try to infiltrate the Windows boot process and works with related security features such as TPM. EA’s Secure Boot information, published August 4, 2025, says attempting to access the game without the feature enabled prompts players that it is required.
Secure Boot is one layer, not the entirety of Javelin’s anti-cheat system. EA identifies threats including kernel-level cheats and rootkits, memory manipulation and injection, spoofing and hardware-ID manipulation, virtual machines and emulation, and anti-cheat tampering. EA says Javelin is customized for Battlefield and other EA first-person shooters, and operates at the Windows kernel level because some external cheats operate there and can evade software that does not.

That architecture has a privacy trade-off worth understanding. EA says Javelin’s driver runs only while a protected game is running, and that it removes itself if all EA games protected by Javelin are uninstalled. These are EA’s descriptions of its software behavior, not independent audits. The company’s April 24, 2025 anti-cheat progress report explains its stated rationale and operating conditions.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.TPM enforcement and anti-cheat status can change
EA’s September 2026 Javelin report says Battlefield 6 introduced a TPM 2.0 requirement. In the June 2026 Battlefield-specific update, EA described TPM enforcement as being in a warning period, intended to give players time to resolve issues before blocking bad actors using that route to circumvent detection. That warning-period description applies to the June update and should not be assumed to describe the current enforcement state.

EA also says its enforcement process balances detection speed with the risk of false positives. In its 2025 report, EA said it overturned enforcements when investigations found they were not warranted. Its September 2026 report presents accuracy and stability figures for Javelin across EA’s ecosystem; those are EA-reported figures, not independently audited measurements.
