A September 19, 2025 report by Insider Gaming compared images that appeared to show dimmer red accents and a smaller night-vision device. EA had not confirmed a change at the time, and its current official pages list the bundle contents without documenting a before-and-after revision.
What players said appeared to change
Insider Gaming reported on September 19, 2025, before Battlefield 6’s October 10, 2025 launch, that community-circulated images appeared to show differences in Phantom Edition soldier-skin imagery. The comparison focused on red details that looked less bright and a night-vision device on one soldier that appeared smaller.
The report cautioned that lighting could account for the apparent difference in red brightness; it described the night-vision device as the more noticeable visual change. Images alone do not establish whether the underlying skin art changed.
What EA’s official pages confirm
EA’s current Battlefield 6 FAQ and buy page and Phantom Edition terms describe Phantom Edition as including four Phantom Squad soldier skins, two weapon packages, a vehicle skin, a combat knife skin, and a Battlefield Pro Token with Battle Pass and tier-skip benefits. EA names the four soldiers as Crossbones, Mirage, Specter, and Wraith. The other named cosmetics include the Glimmer knife skin, Shrouded M433 and Drop Shadow MS2010 ESR weapon packages, and the Chimera M1A2 SEPV3 vehicle skin.

The Phantom Upgrade store page also lists Phantom Squad skins and other Phantom Pack items. It says Battlefield 6 is required separately. These are current product descriptions, not a record of how promotional imagery looked before launch.

What remains unverified
The September 2025 report said EA had not officially confirmed a skin change at that time. The current EA sales and help pages reviewed here identify bundle contents and availability, but do not confirm or deny an earlier visual revision.
- Whether EA changed the art before launch.
- When a change might have happened, or why.
- Whether the image differences came from lighting, a replaced promotional image, or an in-game revision.
Accordingly, the supported description is that players alleged a change and images appeared to show differences. The evidence does not support stating as fact that EA secretly changed the skins.
