There is no single best Battlefield 6 loadout for every player or map. Choose a class for the job your squad needs, match your weapon to the distances you expect to fight at, then select gadgets and a Training Path that support that role. The builds below are practical starting points, not a universal tier list: EA’s official guides describe weapon roles but do not establish a controlled ranking of the best-performing loadouts.

What a Battlefield 6 loadout includes

A loadout combines weapons, gadgets, a grenade and a class Training Path. Each class also has a signature gadget and trait. You can begin with an EA preset loadout and its default attachments, then adjust it to fit your role.

Each class has two Training Paths: one available by default and another unlocked through a class assignment. Attachments can change a weapon’s damage profile, handling or sight picture, and each weapon has an Attachment Point limit. Check that limit when building or modifying a setup.

Check weapon rules before choosing a gun

In Closed Weapon experiences, each class has a signature weapon category, but carbines, DMRs and shotguns are available across classes. Assault’s signature category is Assault Rifles, Engineer’s is SMGs, Support’s is LMGs, and Recon’s is Sniper Rifles. Open Weapon experiences allow more flexibility. Check the playlist before planning around a weapon that is not your class’s signature.

Class gadgets remain part of the build

Every class retains its signature gadget regardless of loadout: Assault has the Adrenaline Injector, Engineer the Repair Tool, Support the Supply Bag, and Recon the Motion Sensor. Your class loadout also includes two gadget slots.

Choose a loadout by the job you need to do

Class Best fit Weapon direction Build around
Assault Objective entry and flexible infantry pressure Assault Rifle in Closed Weapon modes; choose range to suit the fight Deploy Beacon, grenades or launcher, and a Training Path for the push
Engineer Vehicle denial and allied vehicle repair SMG for close-range infantry encounters One launcher or mines, plus the signature Repair Tool
Support Revives, ammunition, healing and defensive lanes LMG for sustained fire; the L110 is described as all-purpose Defibrillator, Supply Pouch or Deployable Cover, according to squad needs
Recon Long-range precision, spotting or stealth flanking Sniper Rifle for range; silenced Carbine, DMR or Shotgun for an aggressive stealth setup Spotting tools or stealth options, depending on the approach

Assault: break into objectives

Choose Assault when you want to get into objectives quickly, apply infantry pressure and help your squad establish a forward position. EA’s class guide emphasizes disciplined, tactical play. Place a Deploy Beacon close enough to help the squad reach the objective, but out of easy sight and reach so enemies cannot destroy it immediately.

Match the rifle to the engagement

For closer fights, EA describes the M433 as a faster-firing rifle suited to close range. For accurate mid-to-long-range engagements, it describes the SOR-556 MK2 as a suitable option. In Closed Weapon modes, Assault’s signature category is the Assault Rifle. If your role needs another range, the extra-primary option can pair it with a Carbine, DMR or Shotgun.

Support the push with gadgets and Training Path

Use grenades or a launcher to dislodge defenders, then select a Training Path for the kind of entry you are making. EA describes Frontliner as helping squadmates deploy on you. Breacher carries more grenades and has benefits for mobile shooting and launcher reloads. These are role choices, not a universal ranking.

Engineer: counter vehicles and keep allies moving

Pick Engineer when enemy vehicles are shaping the battle or your squad needs repairs. Keep the signature Repair Tool available for allied vehicles. If vehicle denial is the priority, equip a launcher or mines in a gadget slot and choose based on likely targets and engagement distance.

Choose a launcher for the target

  • Auto-Guided Launcher: EA describes this as an accessible lock-on option.
  • Aim-Guided Launcher: A higher-skill choice that can target thinner vehicle armor.
  • Unguided Launcher: Useful against infantry and obstacles as well as vehicles.
  • Mines: Place them on routes vehicles are likely to take.

You cannot equip two launcher gadgets in the same loadout, according to EA’s Engineer guide. The signature weapon category is the SMG; EA says Engineer’s class benefit improves hip-fire control. The default-unlocked SGX is characterized as a close-range SMG, which suits the close encounters that can accompany vehicle support.

Support: sustain the squad or hold a lane

Choose Support when teammates need revives, healing, ammunition, explosive interception or cover. EA describes the default L110 as an all-purpose LMG suited to most engagements.

Pick utility for the squad’s immediate need

  • Defibrillator: Choose it when fast revives are central to your role. Use judgment before reviving a teammate under direct fire.
  • Supply Pouch: Choose it when portable ammunition and a small, one-time health refill will help the squad.
  • Deployable Cover: Use it to hold exposed lines or objectives. EA describes it as a mounting point for suppressive fire.

For a defensive position, choose a firing lane where cover and sustained fire can help teammates. With a moving squad, prioritize tools that keep people supplied and revived. These choices follow the class’s stated role; they are not evidence that one configuration wins more often.

Recon: precision, information or stealth

Recon suits players who want to attack from range, give teammates useful information or flank without being detected. EA says the Sniper Rifle signature benefits include faster rechambering, decreased scope sway and improved breath control. The Recon Sniper path also includes spotting benefits.

Build for long-range precision

Use the Sniper Rifle when you want to engage at range, and account for bullet drop as EA advises. Spotting can be valuable when teammates are positioned to act on the information, so consider where your squad is fighting before choosing a spotting tool.

Build for stealth and flanking

For aggressive play, EA describes a Pathfinder setup built around a silenced Carbine, DMR or Shotgun in Closed Weapon formats, plus a Throwing Knife. Recon’s signature Motion Sensor supports detection; the guide also describes throwable proximity detection and UAV Overwatch. Favor stealth tools when approaching from behind or avoiding detection, and use detection tools where their information can support the team.

How to adapt a build to a map, mode and squad

  • Engagement range: Decide whether the map and mode create mostly close, mid-range or long-range fights, then choose a weapon suited to those distances.
  • Main job: Identify whether you need objective entry, vehicle denial or repair, squad sustain, information gathering or stealth flanking.
  • Weapon access: Confirm whether the playlist uses Open Weapons or Closed Weapons before building around a non-signature weapon.
  • Team utility: Check whether teammates need a Deploy Beacon, vehicle repairs, ammunition, revives, cover or spotting.
  • Handling and unlocks: Account for recoil control, mobility, weapon unlocks and Attachment Point limits when comparing options.

Test changes in the Loadout Firing Range

Start with a preset if the weapon and attachment systems are unfamiliar. Change one attachment or weapon choice at a time, then compare the setup at more than one distance in the Loadout Firing Range. EA says the range has targets at varying distances and provides a direct damage readout for each hit. Use those readouts alongside handling and sight picture: damage alone does not tell you whether a setup is comfortable or practical for your role.

EA’s loadout guidance was updated for Season 4 on July 21, 2026, and its class guides for Assault, Engineer and Support are dated April 9, 2026. Weapon roles and unlock requirements can change with updates, so treat specific weapon and attachment choices as starting points rather than permanent recommendations.
