The Premium Edition unlocked play beginning February 13, up to five days before the game’s February 18, 2025 launch; Obsidian confirmed that Premium Edition owners and Premium Upgrade purchasers could start on February 13.
When did Avowed early access begin?
In its November 14, 2024 announcement, Xbox Wire set Avowed’s launch for February 18, 2025, and said Premium Edition buyers could get up to five days of early access starting February 13. Obsidian confirmed on February 13 that early access was live and described the opportunity as lasting through the weekend. Obsidian’s February 13 notice named Premium Edition owners and buyers of the Premium Upgrade Add-on as eligible.
This was a time-limited launch offer, not a current or upcoming early-access period. The dates refer to the 2025 promotion.
Which Avowed edition included early access?
The 2024 announcement tied early access to the Premium Edition. Its announced digital contents were the base game, early access, two premium skin packs, and access to the digital artbook and soundtrack. The Standard Edition was the regular launch option and did not include the advertised early start.

Xbox Wire’s announced prices in November 2024 were $69.99 for Standard and $89.99 for Premium. Those were prices at the time of the announcement, not current price guidance. Xbox Wire’s announcement also listed a Premium Edition SteelBook at $94.99, with a digital game code, SteelBook, and map of the Living Lands. The package was described as including a digital code, not a physical game disc.
Could Game Pass members play early?
The original Xbox Wire announcement said eligible PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate members could play on Battle.net by linking their Xbox and Battle.net accounts. That was a specific route described for the 2025 promotion; it should not be read as a guarantee of present-day access or storefront terms.

At launch on February 18, 2025, Xbox Wire listed Xbox Series X|S, Windows, Battle.net, Steam, cloud, and Game Pass, and described Xbox Play Anywhere and linked Xbox/Battle.net access. These details document the launch snapshot rather than every current platform or purchase condition. Xbox Wire’s launch notice provides that context.
How does the PlayStation 5 release fit in?
Obsidian later announced Avowed for PlayStation 5, with a release date of February 17, 2026. The announcement gave US prices of $49.99 for Standard and $59.99 for Premium. Those figures are the prices announced for that release, not a statement of current prices in every market. Obsidian’s PS5 announcement establishes a later platform release; it does not say that the original February 2025 early-access dates applied to PlayStation.

Is Avowed early access still available?
No: the advertised early-access period ended with Avowed’s February 2025 launch. The Xbox Store currently displays a Premium Edition product page, but store price and availability can vary by market and change over time, so that listing does not revive the expired early-access offer. The Xbox Store Premium Edition page is a current product-page snapshot, not evidence of a new early-access window.
