Multiplayer footage reported as a Battlefield Labs leak appeared online in July 2025, before EA’s official Battlefield 6 multiplayer reveal. Insider Gaming said one surfaced clip came from an alpha-stage recording made July 19; that makes it development footage, not confirmation of what shipped in the final game.
What was reported about the Battlefield 6 footage leak?
On July 25, 2025, Insider Gaming reported that around 10 minutes of multiplayer footage from a recent Battlefield Labs test had appeared online. The outlet said EA had removed one video and described another clip as an alpha-stage recording made on July 19, 2025. The “around 10 minutes” figure is the outlet’s estimate for surfaced footage, not an official EA count or a complete inventory of clips.
The report concerns test material shared online. It does not establish that every circulating video came from the same session, or that every visible detail was intended for the released game.
What was Battlefield Labs?
EA announced Battlefield Labs on February 3, 2025, as a community-testing program for the next Battlefield experience. EA described the game as pre-alpha and said early tests would involve invited players in Europe and North America, with feedback intended to inform development. In the announcement, Vince Zampella, then Head of Respawn and Group GM for EA Studios Organization, said: “To find that potential, with us being pre-alpha, now is the time to test the experiences our teams have been building for our upcoming launch.” EA’s announcement establishes the program’s purpose and development stage; an official Labs page search result also summarized that participants would see unfinished material under NDA, but the page’s exact terms are not established here.

How should leaked clips be judged against official footage?
Provenance, build stage, and date matter more than a clip’s apparent polish. EA’s July announcement was an official public reveal; the earlier material was described by a third-party outlet as footage from a test. Do not treat a map, weapon, animation, interface element, or other detail in leaked development footage as a confirmed feature of the final build unless EA or other reliable evidence corroborates it.
| Material | Provenance and date | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Reported playtest footage | Insider Gaming report, July 25, 2025; one clip described as recorded July 19 and alpha-stage | That the outlet reported multiplayer clips from a Labs test appearing online; not a definitive account of the final game. |
| Official multiplayer reveal | EA announcement, July 31, 2025 | EA’s public presentation of Battlefield 6 multiplayer and its announced launch information. |
What did EA officially announce after the leak report?
On July 31, 2025, EA published its official Battlefield 6 multiplayer reveal. EA announced an October 10, 2025 release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The same announcement listed open beta sessions for August 9–10 and August 14–17, 2025. These dates distinguish EA’s public launch and beta announcements from the earlier, third-party reporting about Labs footage.
