Rockstar’s support guidance does not describe ordinary player-to-player theft of GTA$ already in your GTA Online balance. A missing or changed balance is more likely to involve unauthorized account access, Rockstar removing illegitimately gained funds, a sanction, a delayed Shark Card credit, or a platform migration rule. The right next step depends on which of those applies.
How GTA$ can appear to disappear
These situations are different: a player taking money from your balance is not the same as someone accessing your Rockstar account, Rockstar correcting an account, or a purchase not appearing yet.

What to do if your GTA$ balance changed
- Secure your Rockstar account. Set a strong password you do not reuse elsewhere and enable Rockstar 2-Step Verification. Never share your password, QR or PIN codes, or verification codes. Rockstar calls 2-Step Verification the best way to secure your account. Read its security recommendations.
- Look for signs of account changes. Check for unfamiliar logins or devices, unauthorized third-party connections, and email-address changes. Report suspicious activity to Rockstar Support. Rockstar account-protection guidance

- For an unexplained balance change, contact Rockstar Support. Rockstar describes its security sweeps and signs of account compromise, but does not promise that funds will be restored or diagnose an individual account. Money removal guidance Account security guidance

Why recovery offers are risky
Someone offering to recover lost GTA$ or boost your account may ask for the very login information that puts the account at risk. Rockstar identifies third-party services requesting account details as a security concern and provides a route to report account-boosting scams.
