Usually, no. If you’re reinstalling Minecraft on a compatible device in the same app-store ecosystem, use the Google Account or Apple Account that originally bought it. Switching accounts can make the purchase appear missing, and a purchase on Google Play is not established as a license for Apple’s App Store, or vice versa.
When you can reinstall without paying again
Google Play says you can use purchased apps on compatible Android devices without paying again when you sign in with the same Google Account that made the purchase. Apple likewise lets you redownload App Store purchases through the Apple Account used to get them. These are same-store restoration rules; they do not establish that a purchase transfers between Android and Apple.

Check these things if Minecraft asks you to pay again
- Confirm the device and store. An Android phone uses Google Play; an iPhone or iPad uses Apple’s App Store. Make sure Minecraft is available for the new device.
- Sign in to the purchasing account. On Android, check which Google Account is active in Google Play. On Apple devices, check the Apple Account and purchase history. A purchase made under another account may not appear in the account you are using.
- Find Minecraft in the store library. With the original account signed in, look for the app in Google Play’s library or not-installed apps, or in Apple’s purchase history, then choose the store’s download or redownload option.
- If it still shows a price, verify the purchase account before buying again. Google advises checking that you are using the account that purchased the app. Apple advises checking purchase history and whether a different Apple Account was used.

Does a restored app bring back worlds or other Minecraft content?
Restoring the app purchase only addresses access to the app through its store. It does not, by itself, establish that worlds, Marketplace content, subscriptions, or multiplayer access will transfer or be restored. Check those separately before changing devices or accounts.
