No—Nintendo does not list HDR support for the Nintendo Switch – OLED Model. Its built-in OLED screen is 1280 × 720, while its maximum TV-mode output is 1920 × 1080 at 60 fps. OLED describes the screen technology; it does not, by itself, mean a device supports HDR.
What Nintendo specifies for the Switch OLED
Nintendo’s US technical specifications list a 7.0-inch multi-touch capacitive OLED screen with a resolution of 1280 × 720. For TV mode, Nintendo lists output of up to 1920 × 1080 at 60 fps. Its UK technical specifications give the same display and TV-output figures and specify a maximum handheld and tabletop resolution of 1280 × 720.

Nintendo’s OLED Model feature and specification pages do not identify HDR support. That is the basis for the answer: the manufacturer does not specify this model as HDR-capable. This is not a claim based on a hands-on test or an independent measurement.
Why OLED does not mean HDR
OLED is a display technology: Nintendo explains that each pixel in an OLED screen emits its own light. HDR, or high dynamic range, is a separate display feature. A product having an OLED panel does not establish that the console can output HDR.

- Vivid 7” OLED screen
- Local co-op, online, and local wireless multiplayer
- 64 GB internal storage (a portion of which is reserved for use by the system)
- Enhanced audio in handheld and tabletop modes
- Wide adjustable stand
Nintendo describes the OLED Model’s screen as vibrant, with vivid color and contrast, but those descriptions do not amount to an HDR specification. Its official OLED Model product page also highlights the 7-inch screen, a wide adjustable stand, a dock with a wired LAN port, 64 GB of internal storage, and enhanced audio in handheld and tabletop modes; none of those features indicates HDR support.
What you see in handheld versus TV mode
- Handheld and tabletop: The console’s built-in screen is 1280 × 720.
- TV mode: Nintendo lists a maximum output of 1920 × 1080 at 60 fps over HDMI.
Connecting the dock to an HDR-capable television does not change what Nintendo specifies for the console. The TV may support HDR for other devices, but Nintendo does not list HDR output for the Switch OLED Model.

Don’t confuse it with Switch 2
Nintendo’s Switch 2 information explicitly names HDR support, with availability varying by game and requiring a compatible screen in TV mode. Those qualifications apply to Switch 2; they should not be transferred to the original Switch OLED Model.
When comparing consoles, check the manufacturer’s claims for each system separately: panel type and size, handheld resolution, maximum TV output, and whether HDR is explicitly listed. For the OLED Model, Nintendo lists its 7-inch OLED screen and output resolutions but does not list HDR support.
