What about the claim that Robert is 26?
The fan character page attributes a correction to Erin Ashe, identified there as AdHoc Studio’s operations administrator: the “26” interpretation came from a TikTok trend that people mistakenly treated as lore. The page reproduces this as a Discord message, so it is a secondary report rather than a directly verified official statement. It is reasonable to say that the 26 figure has been challenged; it is not reasonable to present either 26 or 31–32 as a definitively confirmed age.

Why the estimate makes Robert’s backstory feel heavier
The same fan character reference describes Robert as the third Mecha Man in a family legacy. It says his father’s suit injured him when its defensive protocols activated during Robert’s childhood, and that Robert continued the role after his father died. Those reported story events give the age theory its emotional force: if Robert is around 31–32 in the present, the injury and expectations attached to the suit reach back across a substantial part of his life.
That reading is an interpretation, not a separate claim about what the game explicitly says. The backstory is tragic on its own; the estimate makes the years spent living with its consequences easier to picture, while remaining uncertain about the exact number.
