What “100%” means in Chapter 3
DELTARUNE does not present an official percentage that measures every secret, item, or optional encounter. Its official FAQ answers the question of how many endings there are with “One.” The official site promotes hidden bosses, so optional encounters and rewards are worth pursuing—but they are not alternate endings.
For this guide, a thorough Chapter 3 run means completing the main story and pursuing the confirmed-in-guides S-rank/backstage reward chain: the Ice Key, Shelter Key, and Shadow Mantle, followed by preparation for the Roaring Knight secret-boss opportunity. This is a practical route, not an exhaustive, officially recognized checklist of every pickup, recruit, egg, or dialogue flag.
Choose a playthrough approach
- Spoiler-light first run: Follow the story at your own pace and explore backstage whenever a new opportunity appears. Use a separate save before major progression if you may want to return for optional content.
- Guide-led completion run: Follow the S-rank/backstage chain below and keep a dedicated save before later Tenna/Roaring Knight progression.
- Story-only run: Finish the chapter without treating optional ranks or secret-boss preparation as requirements for the ending.
The official FAQ says players can start at any chapter and explains how demo and full-game saves can be imported. It was marked updated June 24, 2026, and lists PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The FAQ also says a physical version is not available yet. The official site lists Chapters 1–5 as available and says more chapters are planned as free updates. Check the FAQ and official site for current availability details.

Follow the Tenna S-rank and backstage reward route
Gameranx and Pocket Tactics describe the central optional route as a sequence of Tenna show S-ranks and backstage exploration. Pocket Tactics outlines the Ice Key, Shelter Key, and Shadow Mantle chain; Gameranx identifies the Shadow Mantle as the major reward on the S-rank path. These are secondary walkthrough accounts, not an official item-by-item checklist. The route overview below reflects their broad sequence rather than verified coordinates or rank thresholds.
- Check backstage before leaving a section. When a new backstage opportunity opens, explore it before advancing. This is the safest way to avoid overlooking the optional minigame sequence described by the walkthroughs.
- Earn the first show S-rank and search the backstage minigame for the Ice Key. Pocket Tactics places the Ice Key in the first board’s backstage minigame after its S-rank route.
- Use the Ice Key in the next S-rank backstage sequence. The walkthrough describes using it to access the optional area containing the Shelter Key.
- Continue along the later rank path for the Shadow Mantle. The secondary guides connect this reward to the S-rank route and the subsequent Roaring Knight encounter.
- Keep a separate save before later Tenna/Roaring Knight progression. Pocket Tactics advises reloading after Tenna for a later secret-boss attempt. Treat this as walkthrough advice, not a developer guarantee; a preserved save gives you a recovery point if you missed a step or want to revisit a route choice.
Prepare for the Roaring Knight secret-boss opportunity
The Shadow Mantle route is tied by the secondary walkthroughs to the Roaring Knight encounter. The official site confirms the game features hidden bosses, but the available official material does not establish a Chapter 3 completion requirement, exact trigger, or reward conditions for this particular encounter. Use the route as preparation for optional content rather than as an alternate-ending path.

Because the exact sequence and missability conditions are not established by the cited guides as developer guarantees, retain the separate save before advancing through the later sequence. If your inventory or route differs from the guide, consult a walkthrough matching your installed game version rather than assuming a particular item pickup or event is permanently lost.
