How to unlock co-op
Progress through the campaign until you complete Safe Haven, the second campaign quest. PC Gamer identifies this as the co-op unlock point; the official sources cited below confirm that co-op is available but do not independently specify this quest milestone. PC Gamer’s guide was published September 18, 2025.
How to invite friends
On PC
- Press Esc to open the menu.
- Select Co-Op, then open Party.
- Invite a friend through Steam or Epic, or select an open party slot.
These keyboard controls and menu steps are the PC instructions reported by PC Gamer. On console, open the equivalent Co-Op menu and use the platform’s controls.
Party size and progression
PlayStation’s product page describes co-op for up to four players, so you can play with up to three friends. It also says progression is shared through the adventure. See PlayStation’s game page and FAQ.

Check platform compatibility before inviting
Cross-play is limited by platform family and PC storefront. Techland Support says The Beast does not support cross-platform co-op between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, while Steam and Epic players can play together on PC. Techland Support’s cross-play FAQ and Techland’s franchise FAQ describe these boundaries.

For PS5 online co-op, PlayStation says a PlayStation Plus membership is required. That requirement is specific to PS5; the cited source does not establish subscription requirements for Xbox or PC.
