Bandai Namco has announced DIGIMON UP!, a new Digimon mobile game planned for smartphones in 2026. The company has confirmed pixel art and familiar franchise elements, including the Digivice and Digimon Card Game—but has not described a Pokémon GO-style location-based game or said a physical Digivice is required.
What is DIGIMON UP!?
DIGIMON UP! is a new smartphone game announced by Bandai Namco. The company’s March 22, 2026 announcement says it is planned for 2026 and describes brand-new pixel art alongside familiar Digimon elements, including Digivice toys and the Digimon Card Game. Those are the details confirmed so far; the announcement does not explain the game’s core gameplay loop.
Bandai Namco also cautions that the images show elements still under development and that details may change without prior notice. Read the official announcement.
Is DIGIMON UP! like Pokémon GO?
There is not enough announced gameplay information to call DIGIMON UP! a Pokémon GO-style game. Pokémon GO’s original announcement focused on discovering Pokémon in the real world and catching, trading, and battling with location information. Bandai Namco has not announced comparable location-based mechanics for DIGIMON UP!.

For now, the Pokémon comparison works as a broad franchise comparison: both series have new mobile games in the conversation. It does not establish that the games share a format or that Digimon is adopting Pokémon GO’s approach.

When does DIGIMON UP! come out?
Bandai Namco has announced a 2026 release window, but not an official launch date. The company’s May 1, 2026 pre-registration notice specifically warns that a date displayed on an app-store pre-registration page is used as the device’s registration date and “is not the app’s official release date.” Treat that store date as a registration placeholder, not a launch announcement. See Bandai Namco’s pre-registration notice.

Is there a pre-registration reward?
Bandai Namco’s campaign notice said that reaching 100,000 pre-registrations would grant players Gekkomon as a Support Digimon when the game starts. That figure is the campaign’s reward threshold, not a confirmed registration total or proof that the goal was reached. Check the official notice for the campaign’s current status.
Is DIGIMON UP! the same game as Digimon Alysion?
No. Digimon Alysion is a separate mobile Digimon card game. A May 7, 2026 report by ComicBook.com said its release was planned for 2026 and described a physical-card tie-in. Those details belong to Alysion, not DIGIMON UP!.

What to watch for next
The announcement establishes the platform, 2026 window, pixel-art direction, and franchise elements, but leaves the practical questions unanswered: how players will raise or interact with Digimon, whether location or physical products factor into play, and whether the game will include card battles. Until Bandai Namco shares more, those features should be treated as unconfirmed.
