No. PPSSPP cannot play Grand Theft Auto V. PPSSPP is an emulator for software made for the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP), while GTA V is not a PSP game. PPSSPP’s official FAQ gives the direct answer: “No, it can’t.”
Why GTA V will not run in PPSSPP
PPSSPP is built to run games and other software originally made for the PSP, including PSP UMD games and downloadable PSP games. It is not a general-purpose emulator for games from other platforms. Its official introduction defines its scope as PSP software, and its FAQ says it supports “PSP games only” and cannot play GTA 5.
What “GTA 5 PPSSPP” files and videos mean
A download or video using the label “GTA 5 PPSSPP” does not establish that Rockstar released a PSP version or that the file is compatible with PPSSPP. The emulator’s stated compatibility is limited to PSP software. The label alone also does not prove that a particular file is malicious or fraudulent; assess downloads cautiously and do not treat the name as evidence of compatibility.
Where you can play GTA V instead
Choose a platform edition of GTA V that is compatible with hardware you own. PlayStation’s GTA V support page documents a PS5 edition released on March 15, 2022. That is a separate platform option, not a way to run the game in PPSSPP.
